Williams, Mballa, Graves and Segu all played 39-42 minutes tonight. Add that to the 32-36 minutes they played last night and we might be able to wear them down.

Buffalo has the most athletic team in the conference. Wilson is going to have to play just about the whole game and stay out of foul trouble.

Yeah, but how many minutes did Preston and Vander Plas log?

This is the MAC, so all bets are off once you reach the final game of the MAC tournament. Which team shows up tonight, the one who pulled off a win in Buffalo or the one who got taken behind the wood shed by the Bulls at the Convo in Athens? I think we certainly have the talent to win, we just need consistency, passion, toughness, and a little luck! Go 'Cats.

Besides the obvious - Preston, Vander Plas, and Wilson having decent games - the two keys to tonight are a stronger Roderick (he cannot afford to get pushed around) and a much bigger presence from Sears. He was nowhere to be found his last three games in terms of points scored. Is he healthy?

We can't allow Nickleberry, who averages 5 pts but scored 16 pts. in 18 minutes on 7-of-8 shooting against Ohio 2 weeks ago, to look like CJ Massenberg. We have to match UB's energy (especially Mballa). If you were in the Convo on Feb. 27 and noticed the two benches you could see Ohio did not play with the same passion (not to mention the play on the court). And we need BVP to match his semifinal performance v. UT when he looked like a MAC 1st-team player.

Im beyond ecstatic the Cats are in the finals. I must admit i thought Toledo was a really bad matchup, but lo and behold we prevailed.

Not much in life better, for me, than a cold Dortmunder Gold while watching the Green and White on Saturday prime time ESPN with a trip to the big dance on the line. High drama!

We can win, but I don't think it will happen by wearing down Buffalo.

BVP had 39 and Preston 37 last night, so both are no worse off than those Buffalo starters. BVP has 76 in the first two games, but Preston was in for only 26 vs Kent. Plus, among the rest of our starters only McDay has logged more than 30 minutes in either of the first two games (last night). We should have fresher legs than they do by the time the second half rolls around.

Buffalo's been running an eight-man rotation with the starters putting in 30+ minutes in each of the first two games. The three subs get some minutes but little production -- 3 pts vs Fiami and 2 last night in the OT game.

BTW, what's up with our PR dept? The box score in the Ohio website's press release for last night's game carries the heading "TBA vs Toledo." The line score has TBA instead of Ohio and so does the heading for our team's box. And under technical fouls it says "TBA-None." How damn sloppy can they get.

Agree. Absent any lingering injuries of any kind I think adrenaline basically takes over now. Need to stay hydrated. :)

The way college basketball has changed in the last few years, there no longer is any consolation in thinking about "next year" by feeling confident that underclass stars are coming back. That'll be even more true with this year not having an effect on eligibility. Long story short, if you get this close, it might be your only good chance for a long time. Let's get it.

Points in the paint have been huge the first two games and should be no different tonight. But we're gonna need major efforts from guys like McDay, Sears and Brown in the wings to keep them out of easy transition buckets and dribble drives.

I dont know how we slow down Williams or Graves, or if we can. Those guys will get theirs regardless.

Tough matchup, I would have rather had Akron.

With that being said, this is one we can win. Need a classic game from Wilson. Preston and BVP need to do their thing. Roderick is the X-factor. If he had grab a dozen points, I'd be feeling pretty good.

Only way this game gets played in the 70s, let alone 60s, is if fatigue takes hold IMO.

First to 80 wins. Anybody's game.

Are we gonna miss a bunch of the 1st half since they are just at halftime with the game now on.

Wondering the same. Seems likely we'll miss most of the 1st half unless ESPN puts it up on ESPN+ or something.

Which isn't even an option for streaming. Cool cool cool.

Leave it to the MAC to figure out how to screw up the one national broadcast a year people care about.
