So OSU/WVU is the second leg of this event and that game is on ESPNU. Therefore our game is a single serving pay per view event for $17. Get fugged.

Will see you at Rocket Mortgage then for $45, expensive beer and limited replay and really far from the action seats. SeatGeek showing $100+ per seat where most of us sit for MACC action in March.

Still liked what Boals did with schedule and it hopefully it pays off February/March.

On the flip side, it's embarrassing what Steele and Miami did with its non-con schedule. With everything it had coming back, Miami should have played an Ohio like schedule. And yes....I know Steele is going to say and has probably said...we tried to schedule and nobody wanted to play us. But this is a team that should have been playing St. Mary's, Louisville, George Mason, St. Bonaventure....etc.

I can't remember the team that did this, but I think it was someone in the SWAC. They would load up their non-conference schedule for paychecks, get thumped, then blow through their conference schedule with ease on the way to the NCAA Tournament. Pretty sure it was a Reggie Theus coached team and they had a losing record going into March Madness.

EDIT: Southern's schedule this year, LOL. It's either cupcakes or get murdered by a power conference team.

As for the game itself...

These guys play at a slow tempo and shoot a ton of threes (almost 20 per game). They also share the ball really well, averaging a little over 16 assists per game. They're #105 overall in KenPom's rankings, but his adjustments based on SOS make me wonder how much they've really been tested outside of UNC, FAU and Bradley - their opponents' offensive rating is 251st and defensive rating is 182nd. They also have a luck rating of 22, which is extremely high. Here's the KenPom rankings of their schedule so far.

Bradley (121)
Canisius (352)
Siena (150)
Youngstown St (157)
Robert Morris (177)
North Carolina (22)
East Carolina (263)
Florida Atlantic (117)
Bloomsburg (NA)
Buffalo (202)

Could be some opportunity for Ohio to take advantage of turnovers and get them out of their game. If Ohio ups the tempo a little bit, they'll have a shot - Bonnies have only scored over 80 three times and one was their exhibition/D2 game.

Looks like the Bonnies are coming off an eventful game last night. Went down by 13 at halftime to Colgate, then came back to win by 8.

I covered Frank Mitchell at Canisius. Was a load in the MAAC but not enough height to play his style in the Big 10. Has been a perfect fit for Bona and will be dangerous in the A10. He’s going to give Ohio a lot of problems on Saturday.

This Bonnies team is good but they’re not unbeatable. Some nice wins on their schedule. A legit top 100 team in my opinion that’ll probably be middle of the pack in a decent Atlantic 10.

If anything this will be a good chance to see how Simmons and Breath stack up against a legit big. He doesn't shoot at all from three, and he's not a good FT shooter. But he is averaging a double-double and almost 3 assists per game, so something tells me there are a lot of kick out opportunities from him. Ohio shouldn't "need" to necessarily double him, but get a hand in there and don't get caught with it in the cookie jar or you'll get burned for open threes.

As a team St. B is averaging about 13 offensive rebounds per game and Mitchell is responsible for a third of that. Gonna be really important to not get too focused on Mitchell and check everyone out.

everyone says our schedule has been hard. i,m saying louisville is the only difficult game on the schedule. a truly tough noncon schedule would,ve been to play duke, Michigan state, kansas, and Indiana on the road in addition to the louisville,GMU,Marshall, ark state and illinois red birds games,

I'll go further than that. If it wasn't for that damn 1998 team permanently tarnishing our reputation, we would be HOSTING Ohio State, Kansas, Kentucky, etc. on a regular basis!

I'll up you one. If 115-year-old Jim Snyder was still coaching we'd be the defending national champions and Ohio State would be begging us to schedule them in the Convo.

The color commentator, Cecutti, lost all credibility when he said, talking about Sheldon, great shooters keep shooting after he hit a 3 following a miss on his first attempt.

Edit: And yes, BTC, I know Cecutti's background as a coach.

With a win against Maine under our belt, I'm sure we could take on Duke at the Convo.
