Anybody know the unit economics of a tournament like the Daytona thing we were just in?

Looking at the 2023 budget, travel costs are a big line-item. Is there a payout for the Daytona thing, or is the thought process that getting two games out of one travel expense -- even if it's a further/longer trip -- is more cost efficient than finding those two games elsewhere?

Have to keep in mind that with school out, even being at home carries. Travel expense as younger players need rooms, maybe a hotel, players get a per down at home and a rent stipend because it’s above and beyond normal school. That’s why you see many programs (all winter/spring sports do multi city trips over breaks

I agree that this is totally non-sustainable, and it's definitely not fun. I think Congress needs to grant the NCAA an anti-trust exemption. The SCORE Act doesn't go far enough. I think it'll come in time, but not immediately.

You are assuming that the courts would find such a restraint on labor and earning power legal. Just like you assumed that the court negotiated agreement wasn’t actually going to happen.

The assumption I made was that you had more than a third grade grasp of the American legal system and what courts do. My bad.

What, exactly, do you think the anti-trust exemption in the Score Act does?
