In my head canon, St. Bonaventure is a rival. Aside from Marshall, we have played them more than any other non-conference team over the last 20 or so seasons. Every game it seems both teams gave the other their best shot. We've won in their place and they've won in ours. They probably would have played in the Convo in 2020 had Covid not happened.

According to D1 Docket, @Louisville is Saturday 11/15. We host Bethune-Cookman Wednesday 11/19. They also show that we will host Marshall. Plus Illinois State and a home SBC Challenge game, nice start to the pre-conference home slate.
Starting to take shape. Guessing --

11/3 (season opener) -- SBC Challenge
11/8 -
11/11
11/15 - @Louisville
11/19 - Bethune-Cookman (Sunshine Slam)
11/24 - Sunshine Slam
11/25 - Sunshine Slam

February - SBC Challenge

Illinois State is likely the 8th or 11th. Marshall is probably a December game again.

11/3 Arkansas State -- SBC Challenge

11/11 - @ Saint Mary’s
11/15 - @Louisville

11/25 - Sunshine Slam

11/11 - @ Saint Mary’s
11/15 - @Louisville
11/19 - Bethune-Cookman (Sunshine Slam)
11/24 - Sunshine Slam
11/25 - Sunshine Slam
12/3 - Maine
12/13 - St. Bonnies (Cleveland)

Feb. - SBC Challenge

That's 10 games accounted for excluding Marshall - which looks like a December matchup. I think that leaves one more unknown game.
I mean this has to be one of the toughest non-con slates in school history.

I appreciate Boals challenging this upcoming season's group. There's a lot of CBB mileage on the upperclassmen and finally some size to compete more effectively.

All said, I'd consider going 6-6 a successful outcome.

When I was in school we played Indiana, Purdue, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Davidson, Duquesne, and Loyola ( defending national champs) in 1 year. I rest my case

St. Bonnie game part of a doubleheader at Rocket Mortgage Arena. Other game will be OSU vs. W.Va. Assume we're the opener.

Yes, and back then we often played the Ramblers home-and-home.

Home game Marshall added December 6th.

https://www.midmajorbasketball.com/ohio-finalizes-bulk-of... /

We probably have three games left.

My guess:

1.) Lower D1 home game against a 230-300 team
2.) Maybe a Robert Morris type game
3.) The annual D3 late December scrimmage

Thank goodness there's ONE Saturday D1 home game with students on campus in the non-con. We could still squeeze one in on 11/8 I suppose.

I'm gonna guess there's two more. Two would put us at 13 non conference games. I'll guess one non-D1 and a low major. And probably both between Bonnies and the start of MAC play.

Pulling from article:

Nov. 3 – vs. Arkansas State (MAC-SBC Challenge)
Nov. 6 – vs. Illinois State
Nov. 11 – @ Saint Mary’s
Nov. 15 – @ Louisville
Nov. 19 – vs. Bethune-Cookman (Sunshine Slam)
Nov. 24 – TBD (Sunshine Slam)
Nov. 25 – TBD (Sunshine Slam)
Dec. 3 – vs. Maine
Dec. 6 – vs. Marshall
Dec. 13 – vs. St. Bonaventure (Cleveland Hoops Showdown)
Feb. 7 – @ TBD (MAC-SBC Challenge)

Agree with Fear and Shab there's probably a non-D1 added. I'd guess a tune-up right before MAC play/new year.

Wouldn't hate trying to find another H/H mid-major opponent.

Nothing yet. Quick Twitter search shows matchup announcements for previous two years coming on 8/16 and 8/22. So, maybe within a week?

If I had to guess, FAU is the host team, George Mason is the "2 seed" with ourselves and Loyola Marymount being 3 and 4. If its seeding on record, LMU has us by one game. I think we'd get FAU first in that circumstance.

Would love to see Miami, Akron, Toledo with this kind of schedule. It would give the MAC an overall boost.

UMass too.

Looks like game number 2 is vs. George Mason according to the official Instagram account.

Our Nov 24 1st Rd bracket game has been announced - George Mason. 6:00 pm. We then play either Florida Atlantic or Loyola Maramount (winner vs winner / loser vs loser) on Tue Nov 25.

As we expected, we will see 2 more challenging opponents.

Edit - BLSS beat me by 4 seconds. Asshole.

Because we (and really all fan bases) have trouble calibrating our reaction to results based on the toughness of opponents, I predict come thanksgiving this will be a pretty whiney place.

Double opponents are - Miami, Ball State, Buffalo, Northern Ill, UMass, Toledo
Road only - CMU, EMU, Kent
Home only - Akron, BGSU, WMU

If the Friday flex thing is the same as before, almost a guarantee we lose the Akron & Toledo Saturday games which would mean our only conference Saturday games would be 12/20 (BG) and 1/10 (Buffalo) - Both during winter break.

I see 9 wins from this bunch below and possibly 10. Add two more wins from the rest and that should easily mean a Top 4 seed in the MAC Tournament, at the least, no matter what happens with the rest of the schedule ....

Overall ... I see up to 14 wins, and that counts losses to Akron, Kent and Miami (1). Anyone see things differently???

With MAC play starting in December, I wonder if this means we avoid the non-D1 scrimmage we seem to always have in that Christmas-New Years window. Wouldn’t be complaining if so.

Why worry so much about a tune-up in december in front of 100 people so the team can keep their legs fresh? I don't think it's good to have a critical game in front of 200 people that time of year.

I can see a loss at UMass, but I really don't know what to expect from it. Final Four coach with a brand new roster of seasoned mid/low-major, JUCO, and D2 transfers.
