What an incredible game featuring 4 absolute stars. We're up against it without Cece but I'm not counting this team out.

This is in OT and we are without Hooks. It will be tough to pull out. Ohio and CMU have played like the teams the MAC thought that it was going to have 12 months ago. If I'm BG and either plays like this then it will be very difficult to win.

Fell apart in OT.

This is one where you just tip your cap to Kelly, Davis, Smith, and Watters and wish them luck. With Johnson not 100% they still played very well today.

Well Cece sure proved her status as MVP in the league. That was some of the worst looking offense in OT that I have ever seen.
Both teams played incredibly well. That Molly Davis as a sophomore...Wow.
Regardless, this team and all the experienced talent on it not reaching the final is a bit of a disappointment. I'm sure everyone in the locker room would agree.

Cece fouls out on a charge. Fine if you want to call that a charge, but inconsistent with how they've called block/charge all game.
Obviously I'm biased but I didn't think she was set. Good fight, but CMU ran their offense better and got the easier looks. Our ball movement in the fourth was not good.

They weren't incredibly deep to begin the year. Throw on Beck's transfer, Guice's season-ending injury, Erica's time off, and other various bruises and Covid restrictions and I don't feel a lot of shame in taking the number 2 team with two conference first teamers to overtime in the semis.
There a lot of roster question marks going into the offseason. Hooks, Burris, Johnson, Bambule, and Kroll have been part of college basketball for four years. They can all come back if they want. They could all move on to what's next in their lives.

Not 100% but 23pts, 5rbs, 3assits, 3stls on 9/18 shooting including 5/9 from the arc.

Tough loss. On the one replay they showed, that charge against CeCe did not look like a charge. Her shoulder was pushing in between the two defensive players. The one to her right did a good flop. This should have been a blocking foul. My assessment is totally objective without one bit of bias!

Just re-watched the "charge" on Hooks multiple times. Not only was the help defender not set (neither foot is fully stopped on ground at contact), but the primary defender also fouls with the body before Hooks makes contact with the help defender. Bad call. But as I said before, CMU played the better game.

charge or block - I'll leave that up to all of you.
But something I never understand, and it happens at all levels (h.s., college, pro), men and women, is when teams don't run their offense when holding the ball for the last shot. It seems >95% of the time, it comes down to the ballhandler dribbling the clock out and going one on one for the shot. It blows my mind why they don't run a play for a better shot.

Quick reminder the defender does not have to be set to draw a charge.

Yep, been true now for about 20 years. That said this still was not a charge.

Agreed. In this case, with player moving into the path of the offensive player, they must be set. Am I right?

Worse than Akron's men in OT today?
