Duke becomes the first, I think. They had a positive test this morning and are out of the ACC tourney.

And shutting down for the year (would have had to probably get to conference final to get an at large bid to NCAA tournament)

This bothers me, because the narrative will now be that their NCAA bid streak is still in tact which is total garbage. Does anyone really think they would just shutdown if they were in their normal top 10 type season?

Very similar to how universities are crying Covid victim when their bubble was well on the way to bursting before the pandemic.

Reigning champ UVa out of ACC tournament with a positive test. Will need 7 straight days of negative tests to be eligible for NCAA.

Covid knocks NCAT out of the MEAC tourney. They were the top seed.

Kansas out of Big XXII. This doesn't bode well for March Madness.

I’ll say it again, and at least one did not like it. But now that schools and the season is into the Conference Tournamentments and NCAA next, it’s independent bodies doing the testing and reporting, not individual schools, therefore, some schools will not be able to hide behind their lack of testing and reporting like they did through the season.

On things like this, Billy, I never question your knowledge.  This one is in your wheelhouse.

So, not surprisingly, the UConn women's team gets a one seed, BUT their coach has tested positive. Apparently he hasn't had contact with the team since Friday and everyone else on the team has tested negative. He'll miss their first-round game but should be available for the second round.

And if anyone actually believes a DI Major college coach is actually going three days without being in contact with their team? I've got lots of beachside land to sell you!

Apparently "contact" refers to "in person".

According to ESPN,he has been in isolation since the positive test.

He won't be able to go to the Tournament for the first and possibly the second round games.

But,he's quoted by ESPN as saying "he will talk frequently with the staff and
help with game preparations remotely".

I really wish some poor sap had to wheel an AV cart with the disembodied laptop head of Geno Auriemma up and down the sideline, just because it would be hilarious to watch.
