This "extra year" thing (covid related) is going to be a source for LOTS of extra guys in the portal. Some of them will end up at mid-majors, even if they were rated 4 stars in high school. (example: former Notre Dame wing DJ Harvey is reported to be headed to Detroit Mercy)

Does Boals have any spots left to work with? There is a rumor that no less than 4 guys are about to leave Cincinnati.

When you’ve got a team with great chemistry, you’ve got to be careful bringing in rent a players who are not far superior. Coach Boals is big on character and culture. Right now the biggest worry is getting Wilson to return. And I do not say that like meaning he’s leaving, but you can’t blame a guy in his position if it’s time to move on and chase money.

I'm totally a fan of "character" in student athletes. Academic integrity too.

Getting a guy from a Wake Forest, Northwestern, Vandy, Georgetown, Notre Dame, etc seems like it would be safe but nothing is 100% guaranteed.

I'm sure Wilson transferred here believing he'd be with us for two years. I doubt he would leave. I'm wondering how we will have room for AJ Clayton who apparently reclassified so that he could join next year.

Bowling Green just brought in Samari Curtis, a former Ohio Mr. Basketball from Xenia. He has already been to several colleges in a short time. That's risky. Could be a huge acquisition for BGSU, or it could blow up in their faces.

Larry Austin had that big year at Central Michigan after doing nothing at Xavier and Vandy. You never know. Guys going on their third college (like DJ Harvey) are becoming more common.

I believe whether Wilson comes back or not, he does not count against the scholarship limit next year.

Brannen (the guy some wanted here) has run off all but 4 scholly players from Cincy. Strength guy is gone as well.

Indiana State Roster cleared out too.

With Archie gone IU may have some guys in the portal....though for the life of me I can not imagine there is anywhere for that talent to go but down. Mids may get some guys who like water seek their level.
