Anyone supporting this man is simply stirring the pot. That's the pot calling the kettle black. Just wait until we get the pot-iculars. It is awfully pot-entious of us to assume things. Seriously, if this acts out as planned, there is no reason to defend him or hope for a better future. If he's a drug dealer, he deserves everything he gets. I wish I didn't have thousands in college loans to pay and he had a free education. I hope the Cats take full advantage, but remember, this just opens the door for Can't State or Buffalo to get to the finals and we all know how tough a third game with either team would be!

Good point about Kent State and Buffalo!  Winning the MAC Tournament has NOT gotten any easier for Ohio because of the Abreu arrest.

I used to have a lot of respect for you and your MAC coverage. After reading your various comments here that respect is long gone.

A couple weeks ago ahead of the Akron game in The Convo, I was about to prepare a "What the heck is a Zip" post.  I ran out of time to post, but in the process I Googled "What is a Zip?" Urban Dictionary provides a definition that fits the current situation.

Let's not forget these were Abreu's decisions and he put himself in the situation.

I've never liked him but I do feel bad for him and the terrible choice he made.  Hopefully he can get his life turned around.  I also would have liked the chance to play and beat Akron at full strength.  Still, Akron is not just going to lay down.  It will be interesting to see how they play against Kent

+1 I hate seeing a kid make bad choices, but he made his bed. He is not a victim.

Does bad luck come to a University that hires a castaway in a vest?

The Columbus Cops need to get up to Akron to teach the APD how to treat the star athletes: none tipped off the coach?

Congrats to Akron for making SportsCenter!  He looked stoned in his stock photo.

Akron's got a lot of depth, except at PG. I can see them using this game to test all kinds of different lineups with different guys at point to see which ones will work best for the tournament.

IF his life is ruined, it's at his own hand.  Poor choices have consequences.  Being the butt of some jokes is hardly the worse thing he's going to be dealing with if this all is true and it's not like he's Maurice Clarett.  However, if it makes everyone feel better, maybe we could all pitch in to send him a care package of Doritos.

Akron has been the highest team in the MAC standings all year. Their season may of just went up in smoke. Pound for Pound, Abreu was one of the better distributors in the MAC.

Just pure Meigs county gold.

Is his life really ruined though? Jerome Simpson spent 15 whole days in jail for a similar incident.

Some future careers might look down on this, but he'll still likely be able to play in the Puerto Rican basketball league for a while. Life not over.

Here's the guy he was reportedly busted with. "Rapper" Austin Durgala, an AU freshman from Cuyahoga Falls.
