This seems surprising to me but Hilton Head seems like a good place to land.

I wish him well. Sounds like this was well thought out.

I do not wish him well or want anything bad to happen to him. I would actually love not hearing his name or reading his name on this board anymore. Let's call him the Voldemort of OU basketball. You just don't transfer to your hated rival and get to get good wishes...not cool.

It’s not like Michael Jordan transferred to Duke. He did what he thought was best for him, like everyone does.

Which means one should have the same disdain for Groce.

Kron is just another MAC school. Granted its one that dominated us and the league for several years but they you seriously can't be putting them and Miami into the same category. That would be like saying Michigan State and Michigan are equal rivals to Ohio State.

In basketball I do - so it would be like saying Michigan State and Ohio State are equal rivals to Michigan - which in basketball is true. Groce con't got a pass because "it's not Miami" - not for basketball, and not if you are up in arms about an average player and want to give a pass to a head coach - just my view.

Whatever.

Eight years as an assistant in a program that has achieved nothing with his presence and sits no better than when he got there.

Interesting goings on.

2 ASSTS have now left. Our Muncie Central 07 grad/IPFW product is now the only asst remaining.

Tough time while recruiting is in full swing.

Good for Coach. Reading the Ball State Website it sounds like a great gig to land while his kids grow up. My uncle raised 3 boy on Hiton Head after he got married in 67' Not much down there then. Had to take them to school across the bridge back then. By the time they graduated HS Hilton Head had a very large school.

I think it is a good move for him. He has a great place to land and raise kids in a great environment. Kudos

This thread went off the rails and became more about the state of the program

In MAC circles it's exactly like Michael Jordan transferring to Duke.

I wouldn't compare it to MJ transferring to Duke. I wouldn't even compare it to James Worthy or Kenny Smith transferring from NC to Duke. I might compare it to Buzz Peterson making the move on Tobacco Road from Chapel Hill to Durham.
