Will a big school offer boals? If so would he accept? Hopefully not but it is a possibility. Will be interesting to see how things go from here

Already seen some Buckeyes fans calling for Boals on one of their boards. Had to roll my eyes at that one.

A shame Chris should have to put up with that but I have seen it in my group of friends I have known since my teen years. They. just. don't. know.

He is a diamond but they see coal

To be real though, would Jeff really leave OU? He’s said this is a “dream job”

Short answer, yes.

It IS a dream job for him, he's being sincere. But even dream jobs have a price.

Not everyone has a price. Just depends what Boals' priorities are. I don't pretend to know for sure. If you do, then I salute you for superior knowledge.

This is NOT 1964, the sooner you realize that!

People often forget how much family plays into stuff like this. Boals said he wouldn't have left Stony Brook if his wife and kids didn't want to move back to Ohio, but they all did. I believe his kids are about 15 & 17...I don't think he goes anywhere until they are both graduated which would be 2024. After that, who knows...but I don't think he would jump for a marginal improvement...I think hew would wait for one of the top jobs in the country.

Everyone has a price. Ted DiBiase proved this long ago.

I thought that quote was from Wo Fat aimed towards McGarrett in the original Hawaii Five-0?

Surely the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase doesn't have a price! The next thing you know, you will be taking pot shots at the Doctor of Style "Slick"

So, you're saying in 1964 a few people didn't put making exorbitant amounts of money as their first life-goal priority, but today everyone does, without exception? If true, that doesn't say much for contemporary society. Fortunately, it's not true. Again, I don't pretend to know Boals' personal priorities. I'm just speaking generally and philosophically here.

I love what Jeff has done and want him to stay as long as he can but we all can see he is the real deal which means a big school will come a callin. I think I feel a little better at least with how great his assistants are. All of them are heavily involved in recruiting, look ultra energetic and passionate during games and all are young. When Groce left the first thing done should have been one of his staff promoted to head guy. Total lack of understanding by going to Christian. This time around hopefully our admin would say "ok, the players came in because of the STAFF. Let's keep one of them."

On paper that seems like a logical conclusion Bobcat 1998. However, the Billy Hahn debacle looms large in Ohio infamy. Coach Hahn even got a shout out in the television broadcast of the Virginia game. They called him the "Legendary Billy Hahn." Yes that's true, when a MAC team has two NBA players on the roster and finishes last in the conference, that's legendary all right.

After the late Coach Majerus's famous tournament run for Ball State which saw him exit for Utah in the late 80s, Coach Dick Hunaker got Ball State to the Elite 8 and gave UNLV the closest contest they faced on their road to the National Championship, but the Cardinals nose dived a couple years later. You never know with assistants. Coach Hahn was such a player's favorite that when Coach Nee left, the AD said he thought he would face a mutiny if he didn't hire Coach Hahn. Within a short time there was a near mutiny, just the other way around from what was originally thought. Again, you never know with assistants, a sure thing isn't always a sure thing. Let's just enjoy what we have right now, the future is unknown.

Can we say Billy Hahn "knorred" his opportunity as a head coach before there was such a thing.

Until seeing this, I wasn't thinking about that at all.

Being truthful, I've had this little thought in the back of my head that said: Jeff is the guy who will bring balance to the Green & White force....okay, the hoops program. The guy who won't leave after 3-4 years of success because it's his alma mater. The guy who can really make Ohio Basketball everything it's capable of being because its the absolute place he wants to be.

I guess time will tell. Until then, I'm soaking all this green koolaid fun up until it stops.

Will Boals get offers? Undoubtedly, especially if we beat Creighton today. He's a damn good coach and, more importantly, bonds well with his players. He might even be able to bring Preston and BVP with him. I thought it was interesting that Ohio played its first-round game at a B10 school that has a coaching vacancy. But WOULD he go somewhere else? Who knows. He has more personal ties to Ohio than Groce or Christian did (Christian was only a Bobcat by marriage), and none of us knows what his plans might be or what might motivate him. I think all of us hope he becomes another Jim Snyder or Larry Hunter, but in the end he needs to do what's best for himself and his family.

Uhhh...not to spoil the Star Wars prequels (16 year old movies! Lol), but the guy who was supposed to bring balance to the force didn’t exactly work out too well for his employers
