Why are schools thinking the ASUN is a better fit than the OVC?

I didn't know that the ASun has plans to go FBS. I don't think they do, right?

Because the ASUN is the future and the OVC is the past. Belmont basketball can't carry the OVC... they don't have football.

And maybe Jacksonville State would have stayed in the OVC had the OVC not snubbed their old rival UNA which recently became FCS football/D-1 hoops. I think the OVC might have to give up on football at some future point to concentrate on basketball and all other sports. As long as they have Belmont and Murray, they will have some men's basketball street cred.

The OVC basketball would be more interesting if they had gotten Lipscomb (down the street from Belmont and not far from TSU) but... they didn't.
