Pretty blah. The MAC doesn't seem interested in Ohio/Miami, only one rematch of the previous year final, and yet both Kent vs Akron games are on Saturdays.

There are three doubleheader Saturdays with the women, so at least there's that.

Kent, Akron and Toledo are all home Saturday games - that's a good thing. Those Tuesday night games going up against high school games just don't make sense. And that New Year's Day game is a real puzzler.

Frankly ... I always thought having a MAC game on New Years Eve/New Years would be great.

As for rivalry games ... being realistic, Ohio-Miami has not held up, interest-wise nearly as well as Akron-Kent in terms of media/fan interest outside of the region. It seems one or both of those teams are usually in contention and those games sell out those rinky-dink arenas which look good on TV.

Don't think BG-Toledo hold up as well, outside of Northwest Ohio, either. I was in St. Louis for work one year and that Akron-Kent game was the only BB game on in the sports bar. And folks were watching.

As a side note ... would not be surprised if at least one of the Kent-Akron games were moved to a Friday for TV ... along with at least one or two of the Cats Saturday games as well.

The EMU and Kent home games are during the break, so few students will be on campus.

Technically yes but the dorms start opening on the Thursday before the Kent game on Saturday. Graduation this year is April 30. That makes for a very long summer for small businesses in town.

In the last ten years, I don't ever remember a full men's hoops schedule being released by September 1st.

Only one game against Buffalo, up there.

The other one-and-done is Ball State at home.
