Woof. WMU released their non conference schedule. Only four home games, and three are against non-D1 teams.

Ugh.

Did the MAC do away with it's RPI boosting scheduling bonuses related to NCAA Tournament conference payouts?

...

Maybe it is the fact that I have limited patience, but it feels like we're always the last team to release our schedule. Very weird some teams have already released MAC schedules...
The Toledo Blade had a story Sunday on Toledo's schedule and how hard it is for MAC teams to work things out. It indicated MAC teams are required to have 15 home games (or 14 if they meet certain scheduling criteria).

Apologies if this was already known, but we’re playing at Cleveland State on Nov. 13

EDIT: Just found the post from a couple pages back that already had this. So, no news here. Carry on.

That doesn't stop you from going on the road and playing tough competition.

There's enough mid-major competition in the region (Horizon/Summit league teams) to get solid home-and-homes so this is a bogus argument.

So what the big boys don't want to go on the road. It's the same for all MAC teams. -- I've said for years, there should be a line in all P5 contract games that states any 'upset' meaning a MAC win GUARANTEES a return game within three (3) years under the same contract parameters.

Pretty simple to me.

Looks like the conference schedule is released. We play 20 games, everyone twice except Buffalo and Ball State

So we're still waiting on probably four opponents to be announced. Put money on a non-D1 being one of them.

Yep. Maybe one more game the last week of November and then a handful of games between 12-2 to 12-27. I would think more of these will be home games than away.

Anyone have any idea why the two home games listed above are Monday's? Seems odd to not have a weekend home game listed among those two.

Hopefully they get 2-3 of the ones that remain on a Saturday or Sunday.

CSU in the Wolstein Center on a Saturday is still a home game, know what I mean?

Couldn't agree more (especially for the out-of-town ticket holders).

I hear what you're saying, but it's not one I'll be attending most likely.

Exactly how I feel about it. Seems like having at least half of the non-conf home games take place on a weekend makes sense.

Also, someone help me understand how the MAC can't sort it out so that every team gets 5 weekend, and 5 weekday home games? (instead of 4 and 6 in OUr case)

Driving home from work yesterday here in Cleveland and I heard an ad for CSU basketball which specifically mentioned the home opener against the Ohio Bobcats.

It's September 1st and still no official full Ohio Men's basketball schedule released.

It truly is a tradition unlike any other.

They are waiting to announce the SEO Stirling Ultracold Invitational featuring OHIO, Rio Grande, Marietta and the winner of the play-in game between Muskingum and OU-Z.

[Stirling Ultracold is a thriving business you may never have heard of right here n Athens County:

Are they like one of the old AAU teams sponsored by private businesses--e.g., Marathon Oil?

Returns all but one bench guy from a team that went 26-4 and really got hosed out of an at-large bid a year ago. Best player is a senior out of Pickerington. If P5s don't want to play us, top of the league mid majors it must be. That will be a huge test.
