Also in! Glad they are finally playing a school within driving distance of Tampa.

I saw Stetson play in person earlier this season in Oxford vs Miami. Their one strength is setting screens and making threes. If Ohio can limit that, this is a game they should win.

It feels like we're due for a complete game.

For a minute I thought I stumbled into the baseball forum. I was about to say, there aren't complete games in baseball anymore. 😉

Stetson is hardly a world-beater but they nearly beat a pretty good Campbell team at home. These are the kind of games that a good teams win going away. It's also the kind that this program seems to lose more often than not: Long road trip, tiny crowd and low energy combine for a sluggish L. If Ohio plays the way it has for the last few games, it'll be an ugly loss on the resume. I just want to see them valuing possessions, moving the ball and hitting jumpers at a reasonable clip.

The only thing that comes to mind when I hear Stetson:

This is such a random opponent. Any rhyme or reason as to why we scheduled this on the road?

Wanted to go to Florida after finals. No judgment.

Any excuse to be an hour away from Disney one way and 30 mins to the beach the other is reason enough.

But its likely they'll be there for less than 24 hours?

They're college kids from Ohio on a free trip to Florida. 24 hours is better than nothing.

What's the temperature in Athens today? It's 82 here.

Prized recruit AJ Brown is in Orlando. I have to believe he and his teammates will be at game along with his little brother who apparently is a baller as well. Smart business trip if you ask me.

Good question, it may go back to Boals assertion that no one wants to play us. Open date and a willing opponent? Isn't there a freshman from one of the Pickerington schools that committed there last spring? Seemed to be a buzz around the program this summer. Should be a challenge to finish finals and get down there and shake the post study rust off.

ESPN's roster of Stetson lists a freshman from Westerville scoring 1.8ppg

Verbal Commits website showed no other offers for the kid. I couldn't find a 247 or Rivals page on him from high school.

Some of Stetson's upcoming games include Johnson-Florida (?), Piedmont (?), and Point University (?)... sure hope they are overlooking our game with those headliners on the horizon.

Next game isn't til Wednesday, so I'd bet they'll stay over til Sunday night anyway. Couple years ago the swim club went to Myrtle Beach for a Saturday meet and did a whole lot of partying Saturday night before driving back on Sunday. 20-year-olds can do a lot more in a day than we can.

Ha! I just meant, start to finish, a solid performance. Hit one out of the park. Wire to wire.

Is it possible this game was scheduled before Preston decided to stay in the draft? Could it have been a "gift" game close to home for Jason?

There’s a lot of Ohio grads (and well, a lot of everybody) within 2 hours of Stetson. I would guess this might be some of the strongest OU representation on the road in the last few years.

I’m no cowboy, but we need to beat Stetson like a rented mule.

Then again, maybe Gabbie Johnson can explain it better than I can using authentic frontier gibberish: https://youtu.be/ke5Mr5eCF2U

Anyone attending can drown their sorrows or toast a win down the street from the arena at Persimmon Hollow Brewing. Some decent restaurants in DeLand too. Cress for something fancy, Half Wall for brew and burgers, Chicas for Cuban to name a few.
