Currie already wants out of Akron? Wisconsin > community college > Akron > ? I'm surprised he didn't get much run this year unless he was hurt. Wasn't he supposed to be some three point sniper who was dominant in JUCO.

Fire sale happening in Kalamazoo.

Also, Samari Curtis is transferring from Evansville to Bowling Green. Curtis was a big time recruit coming out of Ohio and has took a weird road. Committed to Xavier at one point, ends up at Nebraska before transferring to Evansville.

I'm wondering how the NCAA is handling transfers this season. Since this year doesn't count against eligibility, is everyone free to transfer and not have to sit out a year?

How do you transfer that many times without running out of eligibility? I take it that he has not actually stepped on to the court in a game for most of them.

WMU is losing in terms of quantity: 6 leaving with two transferring in. One from Butler and one from Duquesne.

WMU, it appears, might be winning in terms of quality, however.

Stay tuned.

Timeline I found:

https://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/college/evansvi... /

Spring 2018: He committed to Xavier in February before then decommitting in late May because head coach Chris Mack took the Louisville job.

Late 2018: Curtis jumps to Xavier’s crosstown rival, Cincinnati, where he committed on Aug. 1 and then eventually signed a National Letter of Intent in November.

Early 2019: He’s named Ohio Mr. Basketball after averaging 33.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 2.4 steals. He scored 2,109 career points, a school record.

May 2019: On May 2, he decommited from Cincinnati because head coach Mick Cronin had left for UCLA. Curtis then committed to Nebraska on May 15 – it was reported he drove 12 hours through the night when he made his visit. (He chose Nebraska over Colorado and Virginia Tech.)

December 2019/January 2020: Curtis transferred from Nebraska on Dec. 6 and enrolled at Evansville when the spring semester began Jan. 13. Curtis said UE assistant Logan Baumann spearheaded the recruitment.

So he played it smart I guess? Only played 8 games for Nebraska and transferred before spring semester began. So he did sit out.

He’s a player and fills up the stat sheet. It will be interesting to see how high of a location he ends up at.

Verbal Commits shows him as entering transfer portal. He must be doing the grad transfer route.

BG getting Curtis, assuming it works out the way I would expect (as in, he stays all year) is a great get for them. Should be able to fill Turner's shoes, or does Turner stay? The thing that will be really interesting is to see how many kids stay for what amounts to a 5th year. I'm not exactly sure how that's going to shake out. But, BG looks really good if Turner & Plowden stay, and they add Curtis. Maybe...
