Where is our big man Dwight Wilson? Tell me he's still with the team.

Recovering from ACL surgery. Still with the team and sits near end of bench during games.

Had the surgery in May so probably won't be back until late in the season. Good opportunity for several of the young guys.

Wouldn't mind having him Friday night in Lexington. The Wildcats have a 255-pound big man averaging 20 boards/game.

If we're doing well enough without him this year, and it would be late in the season before he is physically ready, and he still has work to do towards a Master's Degree, it sure seems like it would be in his and our best interest for him to redshirt this year and return next year. It's unclear yet whether Colin or IJ will crack the regular rotation this year, so an experienced wide body to soften the blow of losing BVP and Carter would help. Boals sounded open to the possibility in his post-Belmont presser, though he said he didn't know what the scholarship implications would be.

Exactly what I said when I originally heard about DW3. Losing him is going to make the already unlikely wins at UK and LSU even harder. Means even after impressive non-con wins against Belmont and Cleveland St, we likely won't have a strong enough at-large resume without one or both of the SEC games. Means our season likely again comes down to one week in March. But hey we'll see. So far, so good.

Wow, I missed the injury. I'm guessing it happened in tournament against Creighton ? NFL ACL's take so dang long to recover from. I was hoping "the big three" would be playing together this fall. Could turn out to be a bonus for the dance next spring, or another year of eligibility ? One can only imagine our BIG" back under the basket.

We weren't getting an at-large anyways. Even if we beat Kentucky or LSU. We certainly weren't going to go undefeated in the MAC and Belmont showed last year that you can go 26-4, finish first regular season and clearly deserve a nod and get run over by a 16-16 Rutgers team or an 18-15 Wake Forest (not sure of those but hypothetically). The only at larges go to Missouri Valley, West Coast and Mountain West.

Belmont played absolutely no one that moves the needle in the eyes of the committee. They played 0 Q1 teams and lost their only Q2 game. Believe it or not, we had a better case for an at-large berth last year than Belmont did. Belmont beat a bunch of teams that could not really help their case. Kentucky and LSU are going to be Q1 teams. Buffalo may end up being a Q1 team, and several of our MAC brethren are going be Q2 teams. Our schedule this year will give us way more opportunities to prove ourselves than Belmont's last year.

This is false. The difference between the MVC sometimes getting bids and the MAC not is that the top MAC teams play lousy middle and bottom teams within the league and the top MVC teams play quality teams in the middle and bottom of the conference to bolster their resume. No, the middle and bottom of the MAC has been just as good over the past 20 years. It is the top that has been better in the MVC. Buffalo was a 6 seed a few years ago which was much higher than the seed of the worst at-large team. I think that this is the only time in the past 6 or years that it has happened. However, it was very common in the 13 or so years prior to that. When the MAC HAS had a quality team at the top that team has won the tournament.

They have definitely stacked the deck against this happening sine the 80's, 90's and early 2000's but it still can be done. If fact anyone can do it if they can convince enough good teams to play them out of conference.

Yeah, Can you redshirt and repeat your freebee COVID year and not take up a scholarship? Are you even allowed to redshirt that year at all? If you can redshirt but only get the freebie scholarship once then someone will probably transfer out anyway. It would save Boals the trouble of finding someone to come in from the portal to replace him.

These rules are apparently undecided.

What a bummer blowing out an ACL off season. Injuries should only happen in real time games.

I have a colleague who tore her ACL in her back yard on slippery grass. Sometimes, $h!t happens and it can be helped.

Dwight is practicing lightly with the team. I think he will be back by the mac opener.

If this is true, it's a bonus. From everything you hear from Coach and read, my expectations were February 1st if we were lucky.

I just can't imagine this team with the big fella getting minutes in the paint. Dare to dream where this season can go.

Dwight back would mean domination under the basket. Our forwards are very comfortable under the basket and in the paint. Tip -in's count too.

First half felt like a game at the "Big Dance". Hope we get a chance to show off all the bigs for the MAC tournament and make some offensive rebounds and second shots.

It's NOVEMBER! Can we please talk about Mount St. Marys, Concordia and LSU and leave the Tourney and Dance talk until at least February?

Good thought. I’m all for “staying in the moment”. I’m intend to enjoy this team one game at a time. They are fun to watch.

No chance. He had a massive knee brace on while doing some light shooting on Convo floor after Bob Morris game. No chance he's back in a month.

Feb 1 ... maybe. He's got an uphill climb to get game ready.

No doubt a healthy Wilson would help immensely ... but a hobbled Wilson would possibly hurt. Their ability to stretch floor and get out and run with 5 guys is a strength. A 1.5 legged Wilson wouldn't fit that mold
