Not sure if anyone is keeping score but it’s now three games in a row that we’ve forced a shot clock violation

Anyone notice the two crushing, Boals-signature picks that Ben set in the second half. Very reminiscent of his coach and the two kids who ran into him will remember them.
I thought the same thing. Boals seemed to have one of those in every game I watched.

Great shooting can have an off-game occasionally. Elite defense does not.

I know he didn't light things up last year, but he did have some serviceable moments. Any insight on why Granger isn't getting any minutes this year? injury? redshirt plan? just early?

They were indeed bone-crushing picks but I blamed the D, they were in the middle of the floor and a basic strategy to give the ball handler some room, they were set early and BVP wasn't moving at all. Defensive player has to pay attention but these guys were clueless and ran into a Ripon wall.

Boals did tell me that he was going to do the "pick coaching" himself. So, I expect to see more of that as the season progresses.

I like it. I think you may have coined a new nickname.

Agree on Towns, after game 1 I did not expect that! He was basically perfect in his 13 minutes.

Again I will say we have lost so much in assists / lack of turnovers without Preston but we have gained a better scorer. I know it may sound crazy to say that about a guy just drafted 33rd in the NBA draft but Sears has a great shot and touch around the rim. I think his Assists will go up and turnovers will go down over the course of the season.

Furthermore, with guys like BVP & Carter as our bigs, we don't need to rely on a passer like Preston as much. Conversely I think a guy like Dwight needs that. We have so many guys who can create their own shot.

This game was scary, feels good to just get past it with a comfortable win.
