Wilson going down really was a kick in the gut for me, as well. Yes, Carter is a capable replacement (and maybe even the better player), but we would have been absolutely stacked downlow with both Wilson and Carter.

I was all pumped for this year until 2 things happened, JP left & DW3 is questionable for this year.
So from having the entire starting 5 back to only 3 is a concern.
On the surface this is completely legitimate, and I think is why are preseason expectations from many are respectable but not great. But Mark Sears & Jason Carter make that as seamless of a loss as you could possibly expect and I'm not sure a lot of people outside the program appreciate how well we have re-loaded.
Agreed. One thing I'm looking for is how well Mark Sears is able to control tempo. Jason Preston was a master at it.

Our preseason schedule is tough. I believe this will be a good team, but my expectations for an undefeated preseason, rankings, and at large bids are kind of low. Keep in mind that the best teams around here have gelled and rallied late for their post-season runs. That being said; I’m ready for a anything…taking it one game at a time. Go Bobcats!

I guess I've seen enough MACtion in the last 25 years to realize the likelihood of rankings and at-large bids is so low that I've pretty well moved on from considering that.

However, I think this group has everything they need to go head-to-head with UB all season long at the top of the league. Kind of like you said -- that's what it's all about to me. Watching it all unfold, watching players and teams improve and evolve over the course of the season.

I'm probably one of the few who has just as much, if not more fun with the November to the end of Conference Tournaments as I do for three weeks of March. Watching the process and the entire season is a lot of fun to me.

I am sure Dwight is doing all he can to get ready to play this season.

Don't sleep on Izuma. He could really contribute in Wilson's absence. Too bad his illness may keep him out of the Belmont game.

I’m glad I have two TV’s and that there’s a parts shortage at work (you’ll never hear me express that second sentiment ever again).

Ready for this season!

Sears looks like a 400 horsepower subcompact.

Good Lord he’s dynamic.

Carter and Brod...4-17 at half and up 5. Have to believe that improves second half. If they played even decent, we'd be up 14 at half. Carter is at least effective on defense.

I think it’s going to take Carter a few games to get totally acclimated. But the open shots are there for him at the stretch five that will be there all year. He hits even 33-35 percent of those wide open shots and defenses will be befuddled.

Belmont is such a sturdy team. We keep trying to put them away and they just bounce right back.

Shoot this game into my veins.

Ball movement, bigs passing, it’s so good.

That sure was fun. Lots of energy and joy from the team. That Belmont team sure seemed good, but every single timeout, we seemed to come out strong. I’m no expert on coaching, but it sure looked amazing on our end.
