MACBBS message board has the occasional informative, interesting and engaging thread, but the above link includes my favorite in a long time: a discussion on some of the all-time best MAC basketball teams. Younger Bobcat fans may not realize just how good this league used to be with teams that competed with nationally-ranked teams. Not to mention more than a couple of NBA-caliber players on MAC rosters in the same season.

We had an NIT runner-up back when the NIT had as many good teams in it as the NCAA.

I may be mistaken, but I believe the only player to win a NCAA or NIT MVP while losing in the championship game was Frank Baumholz when we lost to Long Island.
