All I can say is wow.

Buffalo loses to 2-9 Canisius.
Miami loses to Bellarmine.
Kent loses to Southern.

Conference as a whole looks awful right now heading into conference play. Seeding will not be nice come March Madness time.

Will be fine for us, after we roll with a 17-3 conference record.

Which would be outstanding, but shocking how bad it is after you get past the top 3-4 teams in the league.

I think that the evidence always speaks for itself. A conference is the sum of its nonconference wins and losses. Yes, it is this bad.

Hold up fellas…the MAC is always a grind. Our guys played just well enough to win more than once in the preseason. As I recall, wouldn’t have St Francis beaten us if they hit a bunny with seconds left? Are those some bad losses by our MAC brothers? You bet! Will the MAC be a grind and challenging as ever this season? Absolutely. It always is. In the MAC one must win in Cleveland to go dancing. Period. Go Bobcats!

Bellarmine is an up and coming program.

Canisius HC Reggie Witherspoon has a unique motivation to beat Buffalo.

Kent is coached by an anthropomorphic blueberry.

It's not the worst day in the world.

I don't think that this is going to work: "Well, Mr. Committee chairman, the lower teams in the MAC are usually decent teams that have a pretty good chance of beating bubble level teams when they get them at home. Our tournament winner often only had 10-13 regular conference wins and you usually gave them a 12 or 13 seed anyway because of that. Now, because we see that the 'MAC is always a grind' we respectfully request that you give our tournament champion who went 13-7 in conference a 13 seed even though this year a lot of those losses are to teams that have shown themselves to be quite bad."

Saying that the "MAC is always a grind" because it usually has decent teams 10 or 11 deep and that makes it excusable to lose to teams that are not decent teams this year is a cop out if there ever was one. If we want to be seen as a quality mid-major we have to beat the lower division of the MAC the vast majority of the time. If we don't then we won't and we shouldn't be seen that way.

Unlike MAC football, as evidenced by the egregious officiating fiasco which cost Northern Illinois the game in the Coastal Carolina vs Northern Illionis Cure Bowl game which no one seems to care, MAC basketball may not be feared but we are respected and given our due by the big boys.

Again, the MAC Commissioner can release statement after statement about the unfariness of it all, and ESPN and others can give it a two paragaph story, but no one seems to care. However, MAC basketball seems to be given a little more respect by not only the powers that be, but also by future opponents.

Well, MOFO came back today with an 80-56 win over Spalding University (KY), so all's right with the world.
