If Dwight is out for the season then Granger should be in the rotation. So, I assume Dwight will be back fairly soon, although he does not appear to be close to returning. There is no logical reason Granger is riding the pine. I am concerned that our short rotation is not sustainable during MAC play. Forget about the red shirt, put Granger in!

If keeping two of BVP, Carter, and Clayton on the floor at all times is statistically effective, they don't get into foul trouble, and they are not becoming too fatigued, then the front court rotation is fine.

Granger is on the bench because he isn't a quality Division 1 college basketball player. It's as simple as that. I'm sure he's a nice kid, a good teammate, and works hard during practice. And, I hope he never reads this. But it's true. He's a liability when he's on the court.

He saw limited minutes as a true freshman. Let him build his skills this year and then lets see how he is next year.

I don't think Boals had any intention of playing Granger his freshman year, but with Miguel being a disaster....he had no choice but to play him. Obviously, Granger wasn't ready his freshman year and if there was a great leap from year 1 to year 2...then Boals would play him...especially with Wilson out. Can't force a square peg into a round hole if the piece doesn't fit. Sometimes that can make it worse.

I would have no problem red shirting Granger if that is the plan. However, I also have to comment that I have seen far worse performances from freshman. He gave us some quality minutes in the NCAA tournament. Again, if red shirting is the plan, fine but let's not say he played terrible in the limited role he had as a freshman.

I wouldn't say our rotation is particularly short. We have 8 guys with 12+ minutes a game and I'd say an 8 man rotation is pretty normal. With Lunden out, that may be 7 at times although Towns & Ezuma have seemed to pick up those minutes.

Granger was just fine for his 5 to 8 mins per game last year and at least gave us some fire. He IS. A D-1 talent and anyone who says otherwise is thiking Major not mid-major. He should be playing but that then does signal DW3 is coming back.
