Hope AJ Brown was in attendance. If I were him, I'd feel confident in having a big role in this rotation immediately.
he was not, he had a game today where he won MVP finished with 29 points Fire shooting 10-14 from the field

We are 7pt favorites.
Let's play a 40 minute game and win by double digits.
I might also add that we have improved out W-L record over last year, LY 4-4, TY 6-2.

GO BOBCATS
Boom! Covered the spread! And won by double digits and the number of folks complaining is growing!

That was last night, but I see where he has another tonight. Saw a box score, 7-9 from three.

Is the team staying the night? That'd be cool if coaches could see OCP.

The complaints and tossing players under the bus on a team that is off to a very solid start, despite facing adversity that none of you saw coming is truly a telling character of todays society. This team has won ever game they should have won, including wins like Belmont that maybe they shouldn’t win. Lost to two SEC schools on the road and all I can read about is how poor these guys are. How bad BRod is, how uninspired BVP is, how others are borderline talent. JFC, can some of you enjoy freaking anything?

He’s giving you effort, he’s not an anchor by any measure, part of a very solid defensive team and leadership. He’s struggling, it happens. You let players who are proven (and yes he’s proven), play through slumps, in his time on campus, he’s battled injury after injury, he’s expanded his game by putting the ball on the deck and creating his own shot. If the team was 2-6 maybe look for a change. You are 6-2 and some of you are screaming the freaking sky is falling!!!!!

While I haven't called for change (mostly because we currently have few if any options) there are things you pointed out that I haven't seen. For instance, I see his man too many times 1) blow by him with the ball, or 2) beat him to the boards for offensive rebounds. And I don't believe he's a player you can count on to consistently create his own shot. His one strength, shooting, has taken a nose-dive. Not just from 3, but also from the line. I believe he started the year hitting 11 of his first 12 foul shots (or something like that). He's currently 16 of 23 (69.6%) through 9 games.

I know he can shoot. I've seen him do it since before he arrived in Athens. I've told college basketball fans here in Newark that he'll lead the nation in FT% or maybe even 3-pt%. What we've seen this year is puzzling and it's more than just a 2 or 3-game slump. I gotta believe it's mostly if not all mental and his confidence is only getting worse with each game.

Don’t believe anyone thinks the sky is falling, but here is what is alarming about Roderick. He’s attempted 40 3s and made 7. If he’s not knocking down the 3 ball, he better be contributing elsewhere. In 26 minutes today, he had 0 rebounds and 0 assists. That is alarming.

And I can’t believe nobody is talking about IJ. This guy gained confidence today and we need him moving forward.

Players have many qualities that are measured by statistics. Maybe Boals should just pull Roderick’s Scholarship? Pull a Harry Houska and give the kid a bus ticket on a grey hound and not let him ride the team bus (yes that has happened). Again, yes reading some of these comments you’d think we were 2-6. Appreciate what you have and enjoy the ride.

The floor and the ball was extremely slippery today. Not only was it 85 and humid outside, but the gym literally opens up the back door to the outside. So any shooting/turnover numbers from the game I’d completely ignore.

I guarantee that Jeff Boals is telling Roderick to keep shooting the ball. He's obviously in a massive slump right now but we know the guy can shoot. At some point it's going to click and those shots are going to start falling. There's just too much history to tell us that he's not a 17% shooter. If we are still talking about this in January then I'll start to worry.

Meanwhile, both Towns and Clayton had good games yesterday and Ezuma gave us a glimpse of what he can do.

He's also reducing his minutes - as he should. While still starting (few if other options), he is playing the fewest minutes of any starter and has found himself on the bench in crunch time. Yips suck - hope he can work through them, but averaging 1.5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1.2 steals a game since Bobby Morris doesn't make up for his limited (current) firepower. Loss of McDay hurts his situation as he can't take some time to work things out. Two games to conference schedule.

Anyway...

Another bad shooting performance, but we hit our free throws and defended well to comfortably survive a road game. The bench was huge this game. Schmock continues to look appropriate out there. Ezuma & Towns both had nice runs. And I'm wondering if we need to find more minutes for Clayton while he shoots 46% from 3 and gets rebounds. Kind of sounds like exactly the things we need, doesn't it?

BVP had a very slow trigger and only shot 6 times, a little surprising from him. Opponents are giving Carter the perimeter, he needs the discipline to still not shoot unless no better options are present late in the clock. I'd like to find a way to get Sears more 3 point attempts...his shot just looks real good to me right now.

Big game with Marshall coming up. If Roderick injury was more than just cramps I'd love to see AJ Clayton get his first start.

We won a toss up with Belmont to start, everything since then has went as everyone would expect. Would be thrilled to be 9-2 into Xmas and MAC play.
