Watched the LSU game and caught the half time with the intro of Coach Kelly. I could hardly believe his big talk about how the Tigers will return to another National championship, (which he never delivered at Notre Dame). How uncool is this guy !

A championship is easier to win at LSU. I don't see what's so unbelievable about it.

The last 2 h/c's were fired within 2 seasons of winning a natl championship.

That's been his calling card his whole career from CMU going forward. Never liked the guy. This performance just confirmed what I already thought about him.

I don't think anyone is really questioning the "why" so much as the "how" and "when" this went down.

-It's absolutely 100% easier to win at LSU than it is at Notre Dame. Better athletes, less academic restrictions, and lately a stronger profile of putting guys in the NFL. Not to mention the virtually unlimited resources at your disposal...not that ND didn't have that to a degree, but LSU and the SEC are just different.

-Less than 1 week before deciding to leave, he claimed he was never leaving Notre Dame unless he was offered a ridiculous salary in the range of $250M.

-Notre Dame could literally make the College Football Playoff! If Georgia beats Alabama and either Oklahoma State or Cincinnati lose, Notre Dame is right there. I think that's what people are so confused as to why he's doing this at this time.

-Given the way he left Cincinnati, he has a reputation for being an a-hole. Also there is a story that he made assistant coaches (now current NFL coaches) Robert Saleh and Matt LaFleur to shovel snow and park cars for a party at his house.

He’s the only coach, college or pro, that I can think of, who I simply don’t like. He reinforces it every time I see him speak. Even some coaches that others don’t like I can at least find some form of humor, or other trait, that they have that helps make them tolerable. Kelly doesn’t even have that going for him in my opinion. Having said this, however, until this week, I had never experienced LSU’s basketball coach in action. He has made my “watch list”.

Note to LSU practice video crew: Do not listen to coach Kelly when he directs you to raise the scissor lift in high-wind conditions.

I’ve only heard interviews/discussions with Pearl a few times and, while I understand he has not been a choir boy through his actions, his comments and demeanor in those situations have not been about as pleasant raking my fingers on a chalkboard as is the case with Kelly.

Saw a recent interview with Hurley. Quite enjoyed it actually. And, since I’m not a Buckeyes fan, I like Harbaugh even more than I would otherwise. How could I not like his comment, that I think was mostly directed at Ryan Day. Paraphrasing: “Sometimes you’re standing on third base and you think you hit a triple”. Classic in my book.

Now, if I were you guys, and you live anywhere near south central Ohio, I’d make sure I get outside and enjoy the weather before darkness falls. It’s beautiful out there. I’m sure it would be much more enjoyable than pulling someone’s chain. ;)

I have followed LSU for many years as my wife and her family were/are alums and her family was on the faculty/staff at LSU and one was very high up in the Athletic Department for many years. We still have a lot of family and friends all over south Louisiana. Not only are the fans expecting a National Title in football, they are actually expecting multiple National Titles and during the years you are not the National Champion your team had better be playing in the FBS playoffs. Going 10-2 for a couple of years will not cut it and I am serious. I personally think Kelly is in way over his head and given a couple of years will be gone. However, LSU will still pay his remaining K even if it means paying tens of millions of dollars, after they fire him.

As Coach O said during his final press conference he is taking his $17 million pay check, his new young blond significant other and heading to Destin for a much needed vacation. He will also follow his son's career as the QB for McNeese State.

I don't give a sh*t about the O$U-Mich rivalry. I usually hit the stores during that time because nobody's there. I've disliked Harbaugh for years, primarily because he used the team to get a European vacation with less than stellar on-field results. What's he had? One division championship in seven seasons and four bowl losses in five tries. If he wasn't an alumnus he probably would've gotten the boot a couple years ago.

As for Hurley, he was a prick at Buffalo and probably still is.

Regarding Harbaugh, per my post, I was just alluding to whether I dislike someone or not, not their successes or failures, etc., and, just as a further observation since you mentioned it, I believe there have been many people who have taken trips and vacations on other people’s nickel without reservation and without massive ridicule. And, some probably not particularly deserving based on performance.

I do understand your thoughts about Hurley. However, the interview I saw with him changed my mind about him. I considered it his redemption in my mind. Maybe his modest post-Buffalo success as a coach has mellowed him out a bit. But, to be honest, I don’t watch ASU’s games, and haven’t watched more recent videos of him, post-game or otherwise, to know for sure.

Don't disagree.

Although, a Georgia/Alabama rematch could be interesting.

And for the record, I've only had one dog ever in the fight and his name was Joe.
