Why did Boals encourage Sears to shoot the 3 as time ran out? Did WMU coach do something to tick him off?
Not sure. I know the refs were pissing us all off today.

Curious, anyone hear or see anything about basketball alumnus attending the game?

The promo is focused on the 2012 team, marking the 10 year anniversary.

There were probably about 20 there. Most, if not all, much older than the 2012 team. I don’t think any 2012 players were represented.

It amazes me that a list of names being recognized can be stated on the PA with absolutely no coordination with identifying those names with those who are present and lined up on the floor in front of the crowd. A couple of guys appeared to raise their hands when their names were given and Chad Gill stepped forward somewhat. How hard would it be to allow everyone who is there to step forward when their name is read, then read the people who didn’t make it. I think this is how it was handled the last time we had a similar-type recognition.

Is the sound weird for anyone else?
I think it’s Marty’s mike. Jake’s voice was clear.

The last 5 or 6 games might be the best stretch of basketball Jason Carter has played in 5 years of collegiate basketball. Playing with a lot of confidence and overpowering younger and slighter defenders.

There was a shot clot differential, so we had to take a shot. Not sure if your question was why did we shoot at all or why was it a 3. Hope this helps!

LOL! Dude just had his career high in points tonight. Absolute beast in the paint. He was making that WMU guy guarding him look like a fool.

It's always Marty's mike for every ESPN3/+ game. Sounds like it's connected to an analog phone line.

Awesome game from Carter, he has had 3 great ones in a row with super high FG % after the previous 3 were the opposite. He really knows how to go after an overmatched opponent in the paint. As the competition picks up I hope he keeps at it and doesn't resort to threes and fadeaways.

Did you know Tommy Schmock has averaged 24.1 minutes per game since the beginning of MAC play. He may not be starting but Boals just completely trusts him out there. Has developed into a true 6th man.

Free throws have taken a hit lately, I was really enjoying the near 80% team FT shooting hopefully it returns soon!

I think Mark Sears is developing into an elite 3 point shooter and he should probably start hoisting more of them. Aside from a very good 42.3%...it seems he is almost always on left/right and his misses are just slightly long/short. Unscientific analysis suggests that touch will only improve with time.
