If #3 can score 12-15 a night, we are going to be so difficult to beat. Nice to see the ball go in the hole a bit in the second half for him.

Like I mentioned in the game thread. He just needs to see the ball go in. Even if it’s free throws. Get the confidence and rhythm back.

Good night to start to catch a fire...FT's, Hit a 3, Attack/Slash, etc....

Speechless how #3 has lost his shot and confidence to contribute. If he doesn't figure it out, we are in trouble. At this point, I'm not sure why he's on the floor. But without McDay and Wilson we have some issues.

I don’t want to personally attack a kid, but his play is absolutely atrocious. Not just missing shots, missing shots bad. Not able to move with the ball. Not making great passes. Not doing much on D. Put in a walk on.

Needs to go on a long, quiet hike at Stroud’s and clear his head.

Came in shooting 18% from 3. Can only get better, you'd think. But an 0-for-5 so far tonight drops it to 15%.

He needs to sit. Maybe that will get his attention. If he's not knocking down 3's or playing defense, what in the world is he providing? And right now, he's equally bad on defense.

He's on leave from the team. Folks are speculating, which makes for a wonderful parlor game, but doesn't really add much value. Hope for his quick return.

I've waited and waited and waited, hoping not to have to comment on BRod's lack of production. Sadly, to me, he's 6-5 playing like he's 6-3. I remember when he was being recruited I read where he allegedly was waiting for a scholarship offer from Ohio State or Xavier. They did him a favor, as he's not an explosive athlete. (That's not a crime. He is who he is). From what we've seen, he could get abused on a regular basis on that level. I do wish him well though and hope he comes out of it. We really do need him.

Being that he began to drive the ball toward the end of last season, I was hoping for a quantum leap from him this season. Sort of like what Nick Kellogg did. There's still time. But hope is waning. Again, I hope he figures it out. It is within him. He's proven he can stick it and be a devastating weapon at times in the past. Again, I hope he figures it out.

We did. The legend of Tiny Tommy Schmock played 20 freaking minutes tonight. Against an SEC opponent.

I mean it doesn't matter at this point. We have nobody else.

He's lost. I watch him closely in warmups, and he's typically knocking down shots. To loosely quote the Academy Award winning film, Little Giants, "sports are 80% mental, 40% physical." It's not like he's not getting good looks, because he is. He needs one of those floodgates-open games in a bad, bad way. Exorcise those demons between his ears with a 7/9 type night.

Comparing him to Bean Willis isn't fair. Bean had enough crazy-hot games sprinkled in that he would carry the team every 4-5 games. Roderick isn't doing that. But speaking of Bean, I sat there watching the LSU pressure last night and did think "My god, Bean Willis would have been awful in a game like this." I've never seen anyone handle the press/pressure worse than Bean.

Some of you are absolutely amazing in how you can tear kids down. Funny again from the basketball to football mentality. QB has a horrible game and it's the head coach. Basketball, player has a poor game and it's bench them. No amount of success is ever enough for some of you.

Right now, Tommy Schmock would be in my starting lineup. I'd move Sears to a 2 and get him more chances to score.

His shot is struggling, obviously. I don't see the critical failures on defense some others have apparently seen. Sorry but I would continue starting him all of December with minimal decrease in minutes, especially with McDay out. He has to work thru it and that isn't going to happen on the bench. He obviously has tremendous ability and I'm clinging to optimism that he will find it.

Could it be that he's offended that this post is about 'Broderick'? I assume Ben Roderick would be annoyed by that far greater than even I am, and it makes me cringe every time.

Perhaps Dr. Sharon Fieldstone could jump across the pond. In all seriousness he has the Yips. They can be temporary or debilitating (Steve Sax). Here's hoping he, with the help of others, gets through this soon. It was annoying last night when the LSU commentator kept quipping about him shooting 19% from 3.

A poor game? This isn't a one game thing. It's an every-game-this-season thing.

That was coming from a former LSU coach (Brady) who apparently had done very little preparation for this game. He knew very little about Ohio, including Ben Roderick's full body of work at Ohio.

A poor game? It's seven games....280 minutes of basketball. That's a healthy sample size. As somebody else mentioned, he has the yips. If he played better defense, we could probably all tolerate it a little more, but he's getting handled there as well. It's not about tearing a kid down, but you wonder how long a coach can continue to hand out the minutes that Brod (is that better than Broderick?) is getting.

It's a message board. If you think people are being hard on #3, I suggest you venture over to the Duke board after they lost to Ohio State the other night and see how they are handling it.
