After last night's games, Mark Sears is now the league leader in points. Oddly enough, Western won while their leading scorer was slightly under his average. Meanwhile in Toledo, Sincere Carry dominated Ryan Rollins. Carry is second in the league in assists and fifth in scoring - if the Flashes keep climbing the standings, he's playing his way into the discussion.
Longtime fans know this award doesn't always go to the truly best player, but the jockeying these last few weeks will be similar to the actual team standings. It should be fun to watch.

There's a lot of guys who could be in the discussion but it probably comes down to Sears and Rollins as long as their teams remain at the top of the league. Kent State has been playing really well lately, seven straight wins including the win over Toledo last night.

A dark horse for first team, who shouldn't be a dark horse, is Akron's Enrique Freeman. He's sixth in the country in RPG (behind that Shaq clone at Illinois) and seventh in double doubles.
