was.....

1985-1986 season. We are talking 36 years to accomplish this feat.

That year, Danny Nee's Bobcats played in the NIT.

Also of note, in three seasons....Gary Trent led Ohio teams went 5-4 on the road against Western, Central and Eastern.

I mentioned it in some other thread, but this is the most consistent OU team I can remember in my time following the program ('01-present).

Other teams had higher ceilings and their best was better than this team's best, but this team puts in consistent effort, executes, and is very good.

Been fun watching them. I keep waiting for a couple of MAC trap games, and the team just keeps winning.

Agreed.

The shoe has been on the other foot for us countless times... Inconsistent team that gets hot at the right time... Hopefully our consistency continues into the MAC tournament and we find a way to get by Toledo. Assuming we do play them in the finals... How many times the last decade has #1 and #2 actually matched up in the MAC finals?

2013, 2015 and 2018 were all 1-2 seed championship games.

Life on the road is always tough but part of this is that this is the first time that Ohio got to make all three trips with the opponent rated over 250 in each case. I certainly hope that never happens again.

Get that...but still a big accomplishment when it hasn't happened in nearly four decades.

I wonder how many years out of those 36 we played three Michigan roadies.

That's what I was wondering. Doubt it is that many. For years we only played 2 West teams twice in a season, and that was only 1 West team when Marshall was in. But if witnessed enough directional Michigan letdowns in my time as a fan that I recognize how pleasant this feat is to accomplish regardless.
