I have absolutely no feel about this game. Just want to get out of there with a win.

Keep Farrakhan and others from getting open looks from three. Defend the gaps on dribble drives. Force turnovers and get out in transition so Ohio doesn't have to grind out half court possessions the whole game.

I continue to look at our schedule with the following thought:

WE WIN THE GAMES WE EXPECT TO WIN AND WE LOOSE THE GAMES WE ARE NOT EXPECTED TO WIN!

This game falls into the classification "WE WIN THE GAMES WE EXPECT TO WIN".

Don't think there's one game on OUr schedule where the Bobcats are expected to loose. Even if Baylor and Gonzaga and Auburn were on OUr schedule.

I'm concerned we are gassed after all these games. Get out with a win.

Ohio has a sizable lead over EMU in just about every major statistical category in MAC play, so on paper this should be a pretty easy win for Ohio.

Unfortunately, games aren't played on paper. The one big intangible here is that Ohio is playing its sixth game in 13 days, plus its third road game in five days, while EMU gets its first home game in over a week, had Thursday off, and is coming off a real hammering by Buffalo (102-64).

This might be a game that's decided at the FT line. EMU hits 73.7% of its FTs in MAC play, while Ohio is only at 69.6%, dead last in the conf. We might not be able to afford leaving a bunch of free points on the floor like we did at Toledo (7 of 13) and CMU (17 of 26).

Interesting note on our FT%.

As a team, this was considered a strength of ours until recently - where like you said we're now dead last in conference play.

Thing is, it's all about WHO shoots them.

Mark Sears is 124-138 , 89.9%
Rest of Team is 184-281, 65.5%

So really, we're actually an awful FT shooting TEAM. We just happen to have one exceptional FT shooter who takes the bulk of our shots. So when he's getting to the line our numbers look good. When he's not they look terrible.

Looked like we were asleep for most of the first half. I hope they can rebound, but 3 games in 5 days is seemingly showing it’s toll now

Proves if you do not have something good to say don't say anything.

I was about to question Miles Brown's offensive output.

DOUBLE DOUBLE

Very nice game Miles--we need you to put up 8-12 per game down the stretch.

You have to admit these guys have found a way to make every game exciting. The encouraging thing is how the non-stars have grown. Miles Brown and Tommy Schmock are playing with increased confidence and the freshmen off the bench looked like they belong out there. To me the real story, again, is the defense. Eastern only got a few really good looks in the second half (and they missed many of them).

This game was basically a carbon copy of Thursday.
Behind in the 1st half then take control in the 2nd. Like many very good teams they exert their will on the opposition in the 2nd half and the opposition tends to slow down, miss short shots, & plays poor D.
So in total where these last 2 weeks were 3 game each we came out 5-1, with the last 3 on the road.
We were challenged with the schedule and we rose to that challenge.

I'm impressed that we were able to comeback and control the game like that with Carter and BVP both hobbled.

Great to see other guys stepping up when called upon. Career day for Brown. And as usual, cannot say enough about Mark Sears.

I have a deep appreciation for wins like this. Grinding out games after a half or more of godawful shooting shows a lot of resiliency. Yes, EMU is not great, but they play tough defense and it was nice to find a way to win comfortably on the tail end of a difficult road trip.

Great comeback in the second half. I believe this also allows Sears to move ahead of Rollins in the POY race, for now. Miles and B-Rod were huge down the stretch for us and Schmock continues to show that he's a great pickup. Olumide and IJ showed flashes as well. Onto Fiami and I promise to have a lengthy dirt sheet for this one.

After JC missed those two free throws, I thought our goose was cooked. Nice turnaround and good to see our offense hit it's stride for a bit.
Olumide had a nice stretch with a steal, forced a turnover and then made a nice bounce pass to IJ for an easy bucket. Miles with 12 rebounds? Noice...
Hope the extra time off will help our bigs and that we are ready for Miami!

Go Bobcats!

I think at one point in the second half we had Ezuma and four guards in -- Sears, Brown, Schmock and Adelodun. Schmock was lined up on the block when an EMU player shot a free throw, so he was one of our "bigs."

Good to send one of EMU's larger crowds (2667) home unhappy.

While listening to the game in my car while taking kids to various games, I was struck by the gritty determination of our spunky squad. Obviously, I missed large chunks of the game, but thankfully my thoughts were confirmed by Russ, Rob and Coach Boals in the post game show. This type of comeback, as well as kicking it into high gear after a sloppy first half will hopefully register deep in the basketball and muscle memory of the Cats for the duration of the regular season and hopefully a lengthy tournament run.

FWIW - It was relatively early in the game when this comment was made - Russ and Rob commented it was the best EMU crowd they had for seen, and estimated the attendance at 750-800.
