I guess part of me understands why people are clutching their pearls about it, but it was nice to see MAC fans and teams really going at it. I mean, I feel like the genesis of Ohio's hoops rivalry with Akron was probably the Hipsher incident in the Convo. Totally classless, but added so much spice.

We all want fans engaged and excited about games, and this was both of those things. For sure the Kent State players came close to the line and I wouldn't want Ohio players returning middle fingers or getting that close to a student section, but overall I think this kind of thing is good for the league because it shows fans and teams give a damn.

I'm assuming Hipsher taunted the O-Zone by doing a Baker Mayfield crotch grab?
If memory serves, he hit a game-winning shot in double overtime and went straight to the Ozone grabbing his crotch... and he was the classier of the pair when compared to his grandmother.

When incidents like this happen at Duke, Carolina, Kansas and others there is hardly a mention ... but it goes on all the time. Many of these places the students are right behind the visiting bench, or along the visiting baseline.

It just looks ??? because it's Akron/Kent. Had the OU/Akron incident been televised, it would have been headlines as well. The one thing I will say there is a common denominator here, and that should be watched, although nobody looks good in any of these situations.

BTW ... Where was security, particularly at the end of the game???
