A little different game for us...we usually win in spite of our 3 point shooting but last night we 100% won because of it. More specifically, Sears & Schmock going 8 for 12 (!!) between the 2 of them. We started out with soooo many turnovers. We didn't rebound well and committed more dumb fouls than usual. Survive and advance on the road.

Sears has struggled in the paint the last 2-3 games, not making his usual high rate. I think some of this is related to scouting and film as defenses figure out his approach and tendencies. Relatedly, I maintain he should be more of a 3 point shooter. I fully believe he is solidly a 40-45% guy from deep but yet BVP, Schmock, Clayton, etc are all much quicker with the trigger. As he develops the outside threat his dribble drive game will only improve and be tougher to defend.

We've fallen on hard times from the free throw line...30 for 51 in the last 3 games...yikes. We were 76% before this stretch. Missing free throws is stressful. Please go back to being awesome at the charity stripe.

I said it weeks ago but I am telling you, Adelodun is smooth out there. Real clean shot and comfortable with the ball. I'm very intrigued by him. Between him and the incoming freshmen, Roderick & Brown are really going to be pushed in their senior seasons next year.

Does anyone know the girl with the pom poms behind the OU bench...and can we get her in the Ozone??? Nothing but constant energy and support from that one.

Adelodun.....holy cow. That came from completely out of left field from Boals. Obviously, he's showing the coaching staff something in practice.

Great point about Sears. It's clear teams are doing a better job scouting and making him work for everything at the rim. We need to clean that up.

Free throw shooting has been alarmingly poor as you mentioned last three games. That obviously needs to get better.

No better way to sum it up than conference road games...survive and advance.

Maybe Sears is exhausted. Same with FT shooting. Tired legs and tired minds. Our starters log a ton of minutes.

Schmock such a competitor. So fun to watch.

We get back to a more regular schedule next week. I'd expect Boals to give the team the day off on Sunday to rest and enjoy the Super Bowl.

Agree that teams have figured out how to better defend Sears inside. Hope Sears can work on making adjustments to his game. Kind of reminds me of a MLB hitter who works over pitchers for a long time until they find out a better way to pitch to him...then the hitter has to make adjustments.

Agree that some of the recent free throw problems seem possibly fatigue-related, but on the other hand we did have a great night shooting the three vs. CMU.
