Maybe, just maybe, those few days off with the injury was more than just what the doctor ordered.
He returns and has his best game by hitting 3-4 3 pointers and scores 19.

I caught part of the game and Ben looked very good yesterday. Very happy for him.

This is a whole different team if he's scoring 12-15 PPG.

A whole different team.

I liked his demeanor in the press conference after.

He's stayed positive throughout the slump and let's hope he's consistent down the stretch.

This. All of this. He doesn't have to score as much as he did yesterday, but if he's a consistent scoring threat in that 12-15ppg area, that would be huge.

Not sure if 12-15ppg is a realistic number on a per game basis mostly due to having 3 high scorers ahead of him. If our big 3 are getting theirs AND BRod gets 12+, we're going to win that game. I'm thinking 7-10ppg is more in his range at this point. Paired with good defense, rebounding, and hitting FTs should be more than enough to help us win.

I know this is a nit-picky response, I'd gladly take the 12-15ppg.

So great to see him break of the slump! We were cheering him along in the student section. Man, if he would have gotten the fourth three we would have gone insane. Hope he builds on this because with him scoring 12-15 ppg, holy crap we could be dangerous come March.

Agree with this. 12-15 PPG is probably not realistic. However, I'll say the same thing if Ben can average 10 PPG the rest of the way.

A whole different team.

If we can get B-ROD going, man, he takes us to another level. Just need him right for March.

Watch the highlights from the UVA game and you know how true this is. He's a good defender but he also hit some massive shots in that game while making some really good moves to the basket.

No reason why not. In fact he already did just that, according to 2020-21 stats when BRod averaged 12.4 with JP at 15.7, DWIII at 14.5, BVP at 12.8 and McDay at 10.2. And a young frosh by the name of Mark Sears went for 8.5 per game.

Wow, we had five players averaging double-digits? I did not recall that.

I agree, he's absolutely capable but just hasn't shown us that consistency at this point this season. Today is a good opportunity for him to keep it going, would love to see him go off.

What's the deal with McDay? If he doesn't go back to playing ball, does that open up an extra schollie for a transfer or late-bloomer high school guy? I know where an underrated 6-8 forward is that has a few mid-major offers. (Murray, VCU, etc) He's in an area where he's been overshadowed by a couple of SEC-bound 6-8 forwards but his team is 25-0 and that is not bad.

Haven't heard anything from his camp. Thought I saw him at Nelson Commons a day ago but I could be wrong. From what I remember hearing he is still enrolled and taking classes.

I don't know if it's me but Ben does seem to be making more 3's lately then he was a few games a go, even if it's just 1 a game.
I am not willing to take him out of the starting lineup just yet.

Seems to be making more shots? 2 would seem to be more than 0

He has 9 games where he is O -fer and 7 more where he is 1 - fer. Today he is two fer. So you are not wrong he did make more 3 point shots today. Ben seems to shine against Eastern where he is 3-4 and 2-6

He is 7 for his last 19 (37%)...almost to the 40% three point shooter he was last year.
