We're less than a week away from the greatest time of year, so make some BOLD predictions. You know what to do.

BOLD player prediction: Ben Roderick will break Ohio's single season made three pointers record while finishing #1 in the MAC and top 10 nationally in that category.

BOLD team prediction: We will clinch the MAC regular season title with a win on February 26 against Akron and two games left.

BOLD MAC prediction: Toledo will not qualify for the MAC tournament.

BOLD national prediction: No D1 games are cancelled or postponed due to Covid-19.

BOLD player prediction: BVP gets a triple a double at some point in the season.

BOLD team prediction: Ohio breaks the single season team assists record.

BOLD MAC prediction: The Top 5 seeds in the MAC tournament will be from "Eastern" teams.

BOLD national prediction: A mid major makes the Final 4.

BOLD player prediction: IJ Ezuma averages at least 15 minutes per game with DW3 out and averages at least a 6 and 6.

BOLD team prediction: Ohio makes the MAC Tourney Finals and wins it all.

BOLD MAC prediction: John Groce either leaves or is asked to leave by Akron.

BOLD national prediction: Chet Holmgren is not as great as everyone thinks he is and UCLA finishes with 10 or more losses and loses in the First Round of the NCAA Tourney.

Please pass the Green Kool-Aid! I need to guzzle some. I'm one of the few on this forum who remembers when we did beat Kentucky -- back in 1964. I'd dearly love to see it again.

I don't consider Gonzaga a mid major.

A not-so-bold prediction, based on the last 2 years experience, is that the Bobcats will have a spotty start and build to be a good team by tournament time. Midmajors that pull off big wins early tend to fade by the end of the season historically so it’s actually a good thing if my prediction comes true.

I agree with this one. I won't freak out if we lose to Belmont. Despite the returners, without DW3 and JP we definitely have some newbies who are going to take time. JC will take time mixing back in. Schmock will need to adjust to D-1 basketball. A team like Belmont is ALL back from a 20-win team and should beat us. While I believe we can win any game we play, I won't necessarily judge on this tough non-league slate.

Not only DW3 and Preston, but I'm not confident McDay will be playing in the early games. Guess we'll know more this Saturday. However, I've heard he's taken some time off but is expected to rejoin the team soon.

Wait...what? McDay taking some time off? You've buried the lead. Hope all is ok.

This would be really disconcerting. Lundo is a rock for us. Combine that with DW3 out, we are now relying on Schmock, Brown and Olumide to actually play more minutes. I feel like Miles can step in but perhaps our best starting lineup is: Sears PG, Roderick SG, Towns SF, BVP PF, Carter C with Miles, Schmock, Ezuma, Clayton, Granger and Olumide available off the bench. I sure hope one of Ezuma, Clayton and Olumide are at least ready to contribute real minutes and that Granger and Towns have made big sophomore strides.

Big time disconcerting with no DW3 and Lundo.

Indeed! If I could make it to campus for a game, walk the campus and reminisce, see some old friends, I would be happy win or lose.

The Bobcats and the Bulls make the Sweet 16 bringing a Cinderella feel to the MAC and igniting a post season frenzy of speculation on the future destination of both head coaches.

Hope this makes sense... The Bobcats see the largest turnaround of foul shooting percentage coupled with foul shooting defense of any team from last year to this year.

Huzzah! That'll make the difference in a number of close games -- add several more games to the "W" column.

BOLD player prediction: Schmock will catch fire from three one night and lead the team in scoring (probably vs a cupcake team)

BOLD team prediction: the team tops 100 points twice in a row (MtStMary/Concordia)

BOLD MAC prediction: WKU and a team to be named later (not MTSU) join the MAC in a few years, possibly a team that is FCS today but not in the future

BOLD national prediction: South Carolina tanks and Frank Martin retires
part two: Somebody at that point starts a "TOS to South Carolina" thread
