Seriously, I’ve been around long enough to know that everybody has a bad game. But when you look at BVP and Carter and compare them to the Toledo and Kent guys there’s no athletic comparison. Normally I think we play smart. Tonight we didn’t normally we makesome shots. Tonight we didn’t it’s just one of those games that really sucks to watch

I knew we were doomed when McKinney said he had a good feeling about this game.
Thank you. I’ve been searching for a scapegoat. Jeff has broad shoulders! ;-)

Has there been better back-to-back-to-back games in the MAC this year than Kent winning at Akron, at Toledo and then winning by 23 v. MAC leader Ohio?

Really don’t want to be the 1 seed. Ohio is notorious for shitting the bed when getting into that spot. That goes for any sport too

If we win out, and Toledo loses at Buffalo, we will be the #1 seed

We still have Akron and Buffalo… Looks like any of those top-five could win it

I'll agree with you if you replace BVP and Carter with BRod and Brown and change it from an athletic comparison to a MAC-level basketball talent comparison.

Only 1 game this year with Buffalo and already in the book as an Ohio win.

I think you could easily make that comparison too. But to answer the question, do you think Carter and BVP compare to the athletes that can’t in Toledo have? And, I’m not saying they’re not back level players they’re just not quite as athletic as those guys.

Well this one sure fits the ‘ol It’s Just Life on the Road in the MAC! We flat got our -sses handed to us. Seemed to me Kent was going to collapse the lane on Sears at all costs and clearly had him beyond frustrated from the opening tip. That and we couldn’t possibly shot the 3 ball worse if we were trying to kick them in beyond the arc.

Oops, sorry missed that we only played Buffalo once. But we could still FaceThem in the tourney perhaps.

Let's take a step back do a little memory work ... and drop off some props:

The Bobcats beat this team pretty easily at the Convo ... they do us at their place. Let's see what a neutral court holds. Ohio still MAC Champs until eliminated.

I think Senderoff has been at Kent 10 years. I don't know if he has won COY before, but he should be in the conversation now. As noted above Akron-Toledo-Ohio with two of those on the road is impressive, especially for a team that was dead in the water a month ago.

They could belly-up the next two weeks, but right now Kent looks to be equal to Toledo, Ohio and Buffalo. ... Counting Akron, Kent is a combined 5-2 with a loss to Ohio and UB ... and a game still to play vs. UB ... at Kent.

Just win out and we're no worse than a #2 seed. We have CMU and Akron at home next (Akron's on CBS, so nothing's guaranteed), then BG and NIU on the road. A combined 22-32 in MAC play. All very winnable. Toledo has CMU at home tomorrow, then at MOFO, home to WMU, then at Buffalo and BG at home. A combined 26-43. But with Buffalo on the road, Toledo might have more of a minefield than we do.

Statistically speaking we are in the middle of the MAC (6th) on 3-pt shooting yet we have the most number of attempts. When we're on, we are ON but unfortunately tonight was just a disaster from the start, on the road against the hottest team in the MAC.

I’m glad you admit there’s more to be a good basketball player than athleticism.

Home.

Great to see the super star three point shooter, former European player and now coach in street clothes in Kent.

Terrible watching Kent make all the fouls to start the second half adding to the misery.

Mr. Carry for MAC POY. Nothing looked like an effort for him. His assists were beautiful. He didn't care if he scored or got a teammate involved. He broke down the tight defense time after time. He never forced a play and passed up firing up threes. Who has destroyed the top guys--Toledo then OHIO consecutively.

So, are we no longer the team no wants to play in the MAC tournament? That burden now falls on the Flushes? Glad we got the monkey off our back. Whew! ;-)

I noticed our guys NOT shooting open threes in the first ten minutes of the game, looking like Norman Dale's team in the season opener after given the ultimatum of four passes before a shot goes up or else. Or when the Bobcats beat Tennessee in December of 1987, a couple of days after we lost at Vandy by 16. It upset Dyron Nix, ut's best player so bad that he called coach Don DeVoe's offense "robot ball" in the post game presser. Kent played loose and were having fun. Our guys were uptight and afraid to shoot open threes early in the shot clock, instead working deep into the clock and being forced into taking crappy shots that missed and resulted in easy run-outs for Kent.

If the Bobcats are going to live and die by the three... they need to launch one every chance they can see the rim unless they are playing an athletically inferior team that they can abuse inside. If they want to be athletically superior, that means raiding the portal or face waiting to develop kids out of high school like AJ Clayton which can work but takes time. And the portal is no guarantee either. Adusipe did nothing at Vandy and he is still doing nothing at Kent... 1.5ppg and 1.5 boards per game.

Smart move by Boals to get the target off our back before March. ;-)

We are now, officially, the worst 22-5 team in the country. By default, we are also the best 22-5 team in the country, but that is just a technicality.

Last time we were the 1 seed was 1994 and we rolled all three opponents. Can't call anything a trend at this point.
