@ Ball State: 19-18

@ WMU: 3-9 SINCE 2005
@ EMU: 6-4 SINCE 2005
@ CMU: 4-7 SINCE 2000
The success @ Buffalo is truly amazing given their success in that stretch.
Have the advantage by 1 in Muncie. I like to think that the one was the first round tournament game in 2010 that went into OT but eventually catapulted them as a 9 seed to Cleveland and eventually to Providence RI!

Yup.....I still hear about that one every time I go get a haircut. Walking in with Ohio gear on always gets a new version of the story...5/5 from three devolves into how Ronnie Thompson failed to recruit several shooters from East Central Indiana that lit it up for OTHER schools. I have to remind them that he was only here for a year so the problem lies elsewhere...but I love hearing them argue at the shop....

I. Am. In. With the wife and Coachkid

Tickets and hotel. Leaving work at Noon from New Castle and driving straight through Columbus to Kent. This one is big... Blackout at Kent So I need to scare up some GREEN or White.

No regrets having made that little road trip to Muncie that’s for sure.

I would have to believe we will be favored maybe by 3-5 pts.

GO BOBCATS
I am going to take a stab and guess zero. Maybe a Straight-up pick 'em line for this.

Well, I do not feel good about this game. Past 10 games, per Torvik has both our respective teams going in different directions. I think we will need to sacrifice a bit of 2 pt D in exchange for covering their 3 pt shooters better... Oh, and can Jason Carter go full tilt? We will see soon enough.

Go Bobcats!

Well...just a huge game.

We've been here before this season and lost our two other monster games both times to Toledo.

Losing isn't going to end the season obviously, but I want Ohio to come out and not let the first half get away from us like it did against Toledo. At halftime during both of these games, it just felt like we had no chance to come back. Win today and we obviously have a clear path to a solo regular season championship.

Go Bobcats!

Being road dogs seems right to me too.

They're dangerous from three, but if you try to cover guys like Carry too tight outside they'll blow right by you. Carry was a one-man wrecking crew against Toledo. He "only" had 23 points, but it seemed like every bucket was at a critical time.

The only thing that gives me a little optimism about tonight is the sheer toughness and resiliency of this team. They've had at least half a dozen chances to throw up their hands and concede a road game in a way we've all seen decades worth of Bobcat teams do... and they refuse to do it.

I used that code last night to get 3 GA tickets.

I'm excited to finally have a free night and being able to attend my first game in 2-3 years.

Nice!! I'll be most likely sitting in the North or South student section with my sister who is a Kent student.

Think I'd like to see Miles Brown tasked with guarding Carry. Sears struggled with him in Athens. Not to say Sears is a poor defender, just an adjustment from the last game.

The game in Athens was one of the very few we have had where we lost the turnover battle and won due to being the better shooting team. Kent was 4 for 17 from 3 and BVP alone was 6 for 9 draining absolute bombs. The game kinda felt like a letdown given what we thought of Kent at the time. We'll have to bring our A game on defense.

I'm guessing that Kent will come out and try to double BVP on the block. Like to see him find Sears or Schmock for a couple 3s early on. Roderick could have some open looks as well.

Any word on Carter? It'd be nice to get him back for this one but would rather get him back to 100%.

Does anyone remember which year the great comeback was at Kent in the early 90s? My memory is being down by at least 3 scores with less than a minute left, and some big steals and Rush Floyd shots, but that might be my over exaggerated big fish story.
That was the game that put Chad Estis into the rotation for good. Down 11 and between Rush and Chad the Cat's stormed back.

Yep, I was there. Down 9 with 1 minute to go. Hit a 2, then 3 3s...including 2 by Rush Floyd I believe. That wasn't a particularly good Kent team and we played poorly.

1993. Saturday afternoon game.

92-93 Chad played in every game, but that was his coming out party.
That is 100% correct about Estis. Floyd from that point went backwards. He did enjoy Court Street...haha...can't blame him.
Rush would still enjoy Court Street! One of the most fun guys ever.
He played softball with us one summer; of course, we were sponsored by Dave Sullivan's West End Tavern. Training table could be brutal.

If the Carter situation is really "load management," as stated by Boals, he should be in tonight's lineup.

I'm a little more optimistic about this game than some. Kent has been playing very good basketball, but they are possibly due for an "off" game. I think Ohio matches up pretty well with them.

As always, Kent has a number of volatile personalities (see Danny Pippen from last year). That can help Kent, but they can also be their own worst enemies if someone gets under their skin.

They are one of the worst 3-point shooting teams in the MAC ... 32.7% for the season, 31.8% in league play.

I would imagine Kent (and everyone) is looking at how LSU, Kentucky and Toledo defended against Sears. Our four loses were also four of his lowest scoring performances. In that first matchup, Carry and Sears really went back and forth. If Sears can get to the line I feel confident we will pull this out.

Mark may need to take more mid-range jumpers if they collapse on him. Should be interesting.

If the Kent D does collapses on Mark he needs to find the open man for that uncontested shot.

Yeah, but the last 7 games (Their win streak) they are 64 for 156 at a 41% clip...
