I will most likely be attending the game with my sister who is a student at Kent!

I am debating going up to the game. I am historically bad luck on these trips (Bball anyway - not so much w/Fball). But this one "feels" right for some reason.....????

Have their been better back-to-back games in the MAC this year than Kent winning at Akron and then winning at UT?

My first Bobcat game was at Kent as a 10 year old watching Mike Haley beat the Flashes. A few years later it was seeing Kenny Kowal drive the baseline making reverse layups. While others do not like the gym, I really do, especially compared to Miami, BGSU, Akron and Buffalo's gyms.

Would be nice to see a couple of hundred in green and white there Friday. I am in with my Class of 66 brother who will be in town with perfect timing for a trip east to Kent.

I went with your advice on the Fiami game thread - Just bought my ticket....

We need to get an "OU/Oh Yeah" chant going before game start. Since Cellis033 will be there maybe he starts that up (hint, hint)?

Kent attendance has been VERY poor this season so it could be a 'home' game.

Absolutely. Would be great to see social media drive by the team sites and Boal's to drive attendance by NE Ohio alums - Including a big turnout by Boal's fans from Magnolia!!!

You get the OCF Post of the Day Award for a mention of Mr. Haley, one of my all-time favorite Ohio players! Does anyone remember his interview with Crummy Jim after his PHS team won the state championship? It was a classic!

With Kent being a hot team now, I would not be surprised to see a strong Kent crowd Friday night. I've attended many games there over the years and its never been a friendly environment for Ohio.

Just got a pair across from the bench down low. Hoping for a good game, but I always enjoy the trip down there anyway.

We may end up a slight underdog after their two recent big wins. Kent still has outside MAC title hopes.

This kind of game is good for the MAC.

Flashes are hot (feel free to roll your eyes) but I always like getting a team after a big win.

With such a big game for seeding purposes in Cleveland, it'll be interesting to see if Carter plays.

Also, sometimes teams just have each other's number. Right now, it seems the case with Toledo and us. Similarly, Toledo is 0-2 against Kent this year. Ideally, we lock down the #1 seed, and Kent and Toledo are the #2 and #3 seeds. That way, they'd be paired on the same side of the bracket in Cleveland and would possibly have to battle it out.

I believe this is the best scenario as well, but I will not discount Buffalo. They are rolling and I guess we'll learn more about them against Toledo. Only thing that gives me hope that Buffalo flames out in Cleveland is because of Whitesell.

Just learned Kent has solidified its 23d straight season w/o a losing record. That covers 5 different coaches. I feel Ohio basketball takes a back seat to no program in the MAC ... but as a basketball/MAC fan that is damn impressive.

While it seems Akron is a bigger 'rival' I get the sense more Bobcats like going to Portage County over Summit County.

Just an observation/opinion.

I would have to believe we will be favored maybe by 3-5 pts.

GO BOBCATS
I am going to take a stab and guess zero. Maybe a Straight-up pick 'em line for this.

For me, a lot of that boils down to Kent (the town) being a nicer place to visit. Even though it's similar on paper, the MACC is also considerably better than the JAR. Note: That is a really low bar.

Having seen the Cats play countless times at the MACC since 1980, it's been my experience that we generally don't play well there -- subpar shooting % (with the exceptions of the great Dave Jamerson and, ahem, Rush Floyd) and lots of turnovers. Maybe it's the tight confines and/or poor lighting, I'm not sure.

I hope the team proves me wrong this Friday.
