There are times when a defender clearly flops trying to get the charge call, necessitating the recent "flop" call in college basketball. However, anyone else see this call being abused by some refs? For example, too often a ref won't call a charge so automatically thinks the defender is flopping and makes the warning call. A great example was in the middle of the second half of the UT-Ball St. game when Milner was clearly knocked over by Sparks. The ref doesn't call the charge, which is one thing, but calls a flop warning on top of the missed call.

Totally agree seeing that one in the arena. OTOH Rollins got his tech on a flop while shooting....I think the kid in front of me behind the Toledo bench sneezed really hard to blow him over....That one was well deserved.

Once Moss pissed the ref off those calls came hard and fast.

To your point though, I have seen legit collisions get called flops far more than they got called charges this year. Refs do not seem to be liking being put into that spot and are over reacting....may have to be tweaked again

I saw that play in the UT-BSU game...it was awful. He got bowled over and then got warned for faking it.

Ha....I will definitely take a crappy Ohio February hoops loss over Ohio football any day of the year.

I may be reading this wrongly but I thought this thread was about the officials calling charges and flops. Negative Nancys taking this in another direction? No limit to idiocy. No wonder other fan boards take great delight in watching OUr board. One of the few things I think Groce said while he was here rings true, "we are never as good as our fans think we are when we win, and we are never as bad as they make it out when we lose". Not many things I agree with him about but that one is gold

My comment "This is abysmal"...was targeted for Kent thread and I accidentally put it on this thread. That's my bad. Onward and forward to CMU.

Hope they do take great delight in this board because no fan base in the MAC has better interaction or participation on a message board than Bobcat Attack.
