Very big weather system heading across the state W-F. If the forecasts are accurate, this game might be postponed again. Hopefully the snow stays north and EMU travels early enough that it isn't an issue, but they may also be concerned about the return trip.

I'd say they could tweak it a day forward or back but the tightly scheduled week makes that fairly impossible. I fear this one just won't be played, which stinks given it is a winnable home game for us and we are fighting for a MAC regular season title.

I've been wondering if the weather might eff things up for us as well. I think you can bet EMU will be on the road early wednesday before the rain turns to ice then snow. As long as the officials can get there (do they arrive a day early?), I figure the game will happen, even if it's friends and family. However, if students have classes called and have spent the day drinking anyway, maybe they'll take their pent up energy to the convo that night and make some noise. or look at their phones.

I would be more worried about WMU's travel on Friday when everyone is buried in snow, but I think the timing might just allow the games to be played.

I'd assume the officials come in the day of the game and leave after the game. Most have full-time jobs outside of basketball. Outside the tournament I can't imagine the schools or conference paying for hotel rooms outside of rare occasions.

It actually looks like Athens is going to be mostly below the line, my weather app says 2 inches while Columbus says 12. But yeah, EMU will have a very tough time getting all the way thru the state Thursday night.

Eastern plays at Kent on Saturday after Ohio. One would hope they would leave early for Athens then just go up 77 for the next game rather than back to Yspi through the snow.

Good point. As long as they leave early enough, that should work.

WMU would likely fly in on Friday, especially since they're at CMU Thursday, so as long as the airports are clear they should be ok. Might they also push it to Sunday? WMU's next game is at MOFO Tuesday night so they'll probably stay over in southern Ohio anyway.

Hope not, Pataskala. Ohio, with games Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, need that extra day rest before playing at UT next Tuesday.

I just noticed the Thursday Bobcat/EMU game is mysteriously missing on the MAC website.

EMU moved their women's home game for today from 7PM to 12PM in anticipation for the storm, which I take as a good sign that they were planning ahead and presumably that means their men's team is already on their way to Athens.

Might be a light crowd tomorrow as the forecast for Athens currently shows rain switching to a rain/snow mix right at gametime tomorrow. Hopefully Athens doesn't get too much ice 7
