Cellis and his section of 20-30 engaged students was good but overall student crowd was really disappointing. I know sports aren't for everyone but I'm certain there are thousands of OU students who are sports fans who were sitting at home last night and I'll simply never be able to understand it. Overall attendance was just meh, announced 4721 probably was about 3500 there.
Very subtle observation but it has confused and annoyed my son every game...why does the scoreboard say "Bonus" when a team gets to 5 fouls instead of 7? Does a setting needing changed in the software somewhere?
Agree that the frequency of whistles was too much. It got really annoying at times. First 12 minutes was very uncharacteristic basketball for us. Lots of turnovers on offense and giving up a lot of points and fouling a lot on defense. Then boy did it turn around. Interesting flow of shooting from BSU:
First 12 mins - 7 for 11
Next 13 mins - 0 for 18
Next 4 mins - 4 for 5
Next 9 mins - 5 for 14
Final 2 mins - 4 for 4
Last night was just what the doctor ordered, Sears only 27 mins, BVP 25, Carter 22. JC was AWESOME. 3 point shot selection as a team was excellent and resulted in 43.5% about as good as we've been. Didn't do great from the line tonight, 17 for 27. Sears missed back to back free throws and he looked like he wanted to put his head thru a wall.
Weekly petition to consider more playing time for Clayton. He just keeps hitting 3s and getting rebounds in his small spurts.
Really small sample size but Adelodun looked SMOOTH out there. His 4 minutes was enough to leave me intrigued. Was fun to see the bench guys get a decent run.
