When the rankings come out later today we’ll have at least one vote in the AP poll.

Even though they do go on to call us Ohio State…

Considering Belmont has 7 points in the preseason poll, I was assuming we would get around that. A blowout win tonight and even just a close loss that shows we can compete at Kentucky could put us in next week. On the one hand it means nothing but on the other it means a lot in terms of fan interest (especially student), recruiting, etc. It matters.

We are a "Big Game" coming up! Showing some respect and stuff.

Being in the Top 25 would be awesome, but playing our best basketball at the end of the season would be my priority.

I wonder if the majority of the people who vote on this will even know or pay attention if we lose to Kentucky, or will they just see a 3-1 mid-major?

Hopefully even with a non-disastrous loss to Kentucky we can be in the top 25 going into or after a possible win over LSU if we take care of business until then. Would be huge for the program in my opinion.

Gotta find a way, any way, to finally beat Bobby Mo first.

Well, the loss at Kentucky did not lose us our one vote in the AP top 25, still there. A win against LSU could help the cause as long as we take care of business this week.

25. Ohio University (3-1) stays here after beating Robert Morris and losing at Kentucky. No shame in losing at Kentucky, so I'm not going to kick Ohio off the ballot. I looked at UConn and Southern Cal, but Ohio still has a better win on its resume (Belmont) than either of those two teams. Next: Mon. against Mount St. Mary's and Friday against Concordia.

Chattanooga should be rated a lot higher.

I hear we might also be ranked in the mid-major top 25. Darned if I remember where though...

But we are now appearing on the ESPN Bracetology as the MAC rep, facing Florida in the 1st round as a #12 seed.

If tonight is any indication Florida (#20) shouldn’t count on a four. 0-7 Texas Southern beat them 69-54. Since 1936, AP-ranked SEC teams were 53-0 against SWAC teams.

Not a four but rather five seed.

Bracketology this time of year is just click bait and a reason for someone to justify their employment. It's like bowl predictions or Heisman standings in September. Somewhat interesting but meaningless. And often this time of year they just throw in last year's MAC champ.
