I live here among the UMass faithful. In fact both my sisters and bother-in-law are UMass grads. People around here have a very warped sense of UMass potential. They refuse to acknowledge that the only time they've had an A10 contender was when Calipari was here and he was cheating.

I think one can easily apply that same exact thought process to all the blowhards in Memphis. 😉

Not necessarily. I recall Memphis, then called Memphis State, having success pre-Calipari.

Led by Dr. K, Larry Kenon, the Tigers once played UCLA and Bill Walton in the NCAA title game. In the early 1970s, I believe.

Tubby Smith coached at U of Memphis and he's been without a hint of scandal anywhere.
