I know seeding is still up in the air, but there's been a clear downward trajectory against quality teams since the first Toledo game. Wondering how many optimists are left on this board.

As much as I'm optimistic to say three, realistically I say one. But crossing my fingers they can prove me wrong in Cleveland!

Starting to think that two wins in Cleveland and making it to MAC Final (if we lose) saves the season.

Anything less than that would make this a pretty stale 25-26 win season considering who we didn't beat the entire season.

Personally I would hardly call the season pretty stale regardless of what happens from here on out. I attended 18 games in the Convo this season and we won 16 of them. Throughout the season the Convo came back to life as a place with a great college basketball atmosphere. I have enjoyed the season immensely, winning at that rate is amazing and I don't care the quality of the opponents - they are the other team on the floor and we beat them at at an 89% rate. I have been in the Convo for 40+ seasons and this one was thoroughly enjoyable. Winning is great and there are some wonderful and unique players on this team to appreciate that do more than just hoop.

I get the frustration and I am pulling for more from this team in Cleveland to take this season to a special place. But will the season end up being remembered as pretty stale? Not for this fan.

A very refreshing take.

Have you had a chance to be in the Convo this season?

I voted for one win, but I agree with the gist of this. Even though we look like paper tigers (bobcats?) at this point, the revival of the basketball culture in Athens was huge. I get that Ohio doesn't have the best facilities in the conference largely due to lacking a practice gym, but the atmosphere of the Convo is head and shoulders above anything else in the MAC. Hopefully that moves the recruiting needle.

If the Cats were to make the finals and lose to say Toledo, I think an NIT berth is possible. Looks like the CBI is on for this year again with a single-site format.

I like Ohio's chances to play somewhere beyond Cleveland-even if it's not in the big dance.

I'm being The Optimist's big brother, and saying three. But that has to start tonight, and carry through NIU on Friday with two strong performances.

I usually do that, but for some reason I voted this time with my head and not my heart. My heart says three and then the Sweet 16. My head says one and out and then a CBI invite.

Let me clarify...when I say stale...I wasn't referring to the renewed energy in Ohio hoops that was brought back to the Convo this year. That has been absolutely fantastic. When I say "stale" I am referring to our inability to pull off a signature win or two up to this point. I am not complaining about a possible 25 win season, but it's amazing how differently people would feel with just one win against Toledo and a home win against Akron. I'm hoping we are saving our signature win or two for Cleveland.

Those of you who voted for anything other than "zero" might want to revisit that after what's on display right now in Bowling Green.

There are 5 teams worth a damn (still including us in that). So getting the 3 seed is big. It is looking like we'll be in the 4/5 game which means 3 tough assignments to a championship. Looking like a steep hill.
