Could he be the first player in Ohio Basketball history to leave the roster with a PhD in his back pocket? Joking but seems like a serious student given his GPA that was shared recently on social media.

Whatever he decides, we've are blessed to have him represent our university.

Cellis…get those Ozone chants of “One More Year” going for BVP during senior night pre-game and throughout game.
I have noted it on the dirt sheet and we will be starting the “One More Year!” Chants
Figured you were all over it. Can't wait to hear the OZONE on TV tonight. You have done a tremendous job in bringing back student involvement and energy to games. I believe the OZONE is back here for good to stay moving forward.
I agree as well! Also working on lining up other leaders that can succeed me once I graduate! I hope we can be loud tonight!

The succession plan is the key....you are totally on it. Have a blast tonight.

Jake H asked him straight out, point blank. Here's his answer:

Got a "One More Year" poster and chant planned for tonight when they honor him.

Not out loud, but he sounds pretty done to me. I think after one undergrad and two master's degrees I might need a change of scenery too.

If BVP is done he had a stinker in his last game. Luckily we will have a 1st round CIT game before we lose to Denver in the 2nd round.

Perhaps he's being cryptic about his return because there's not a scholarship to give him unless someone else transfers out.
In the day and age of the transfer portal, someone will be certain to transfer out. I can't imagine more than a few teams anywhere will lose fewer than three players to the portal every season nowadays.

Someone mentioned Virginia as a possibility with the Bennett connection. I will throw this out there and see if I can be the first guy on the internet to put it all together. I agree with others that it sees unlikely he would go play at another school next year, but one other possible exception would be the Wisconsin Badger.

Seeing Cincinnati graduate transfer Chris Vogt succeeding at UW this year got me wondering if they'd entertain BVP as a replacement for him. They also lose outside shooter Brad Davidson. He could plug right in and help fill both those voids. His style of play - Strong defense, draw more fouls than commit, inside/out offensive player. If UW came calling, I have to think it would be tempting to BVP given how deep his Badger basketball ties are.
