Limited info coming out after last night's game concerning both. It sounds like a twisted ankle from BVP and I'm hoping with the lead we had, it was a good reason for Boals to keep BVP on the bench and rest for Miami.

Carter is a different issue. Taken out two minutes into the second half and he never saw the floor again. Didn't Carter have some kind of leg issue at Xavier. I wonder if Boals makes the decision to not even play Carter against Miami and give him a rest? However, Miami is obviously playing better since the last time we played them.

That sounds like a 2 or 3 week sort of injury

Someone needs to investigate how safe these postgame interviews are for the players.

Where is the Optimist when we need him. Not good if this proves to be true.

FWIW, Carter had to have a knee rewrapped before taking FTs in the first half. Don't know if that had anything to do with him sitting out the second half.

It looked like Carter had a bleeding problem below the knee Refs sent him to the sideline to get it stopped.

I was sitting right behind the bench. Carter got wrapped up for bleeding. They even stopped play for some of the blood getting on the court right after that. Carter did not play at all in the second half. IJ started the second half in his place. Obviously you can’t tell much from it, but he looked fine sitting on the bench, going to the hurdles, etc... Ohio cut the lead in half by the first media TO. Maybe they decided to rest him as the lead kept growing

As for BVP, he hobbled right off the court and to the trainers table. He came back to the bench with no shoe and and ice pack plastic wrapped to his ankle. It did not appear he was going back in no matter the score. He also sat on the bench and did not join the team on the floor for the time out huddles the rest of the game. Would not be surprised to see him held out on Tuesday.

I saw the injury happen on the replay. Non-contact, running down the court.

If he was on the hurdles he wasn't too bad :)

Actually, it depends on what type of hurdles. The high hurdles or the low?

Still don't feel like we have gotten a proper update on these injuries. Anyone?

I don't even see a Miami game preview in either the Post or the Messenger.

Nope...just a ton of speculation here that BVP and Carter are both out. BVP was on the Monday Bobcat Tracks podcast and not one question was asked about his ankle. I get not wanting the opponent to know ahead of time who is playing, but still frustrating from a fan perspective not knowing.

I was expecting the opposite. If BVP is noy close to 100%, which I suspect that he isn't, then this game is a lot tougher than it looks on paper.

They said something in the pregame on the radio. He has had a cycle cramps and pulls in his calves and they are letting them heal and rest or something like that.

We'll need Carter for Kent. They dismantled Toledo by 13 on the road tonight.

You are correct, BVP was not 100 percent for the Miami game. He was 110 percent! Boy, what a performance. He was a one-man wrecking crew -- career high of 30 points, many great rebounds (several one-handed), and six great assists -- at least two that I counted to TS for threes. It was a team victory and many guys played good games, but BVP was the man tonight!

I went in expecting Carter and not BVP. Just glad 1 was able to go (and that he dominated). Having neither of them is not something I want to see happen this season.

Sidebar, I noticed last night at the honor roll recognition at Halftime...both BVP & JC are 4.0 students. I'm always impressed by that feat from athletes with extremely demanding schedules.
