Thank you Jeff Boals.

The transformation of this program over the last three years has been incredible. From fan interest...student involvement at games...social media engagement...winning....recruiting. It's been amazing.

Don't know how this season will end, but it's been a hell of a fun three years. And it's not going to slow down.

So pumped to see history occur today. Hope we can keep the momentum with the student section!

I believe I heard Russ say that the last Bobcat squad to post as good a record was the 1940-41 team.

That crew had a great season before losing in the NIT finals to Long Island back in the day when the NIT was a really big deal.

Portent of things to come?

Hmm. So how many people right now would take losing in the NIT championship?

…”why it took someone so long to hire that guy is beyond me…”

Welcome home, Coach Boals!

Quoting Moneyball: (Billy Beane)

"If you don't win the last game of the season, nobody give a damm"

I was a season ticket holder at Vandy the year they won the NIT (1990) and the year they lost in the title game to a pretty good Villanova team (1994). There was a huge difference in how people felt about the two eventualities.

It's crazy that this team has only lost once since December 2nd. The Bobcats are 13-1 over the last 65 days. That's remarkable.

One of those team's was 1940-41. It was 18-3 and playing in the final of the NIT when the NIT was still a big deal. They lost and finished 18-4. Apparently, no Ohio team has ever been 19-3.

Think about where this basketball program was on February 5, 2019? That was a dark period with a lame duck coach and staring at nearly half the roster hitting the portal.

Enjoying every bit of this and never taking for granted what Jeff Boals means to Ohio basketball.

So amazing what one coach can do. Crossing my fingers Sherman decides to get him a big 10 year extension.

I'll admit nothing in life is ever a sure thing, but from first-hand experience with Jeff as a coach from my playing days - I flat out said he was going to be a good one.

And he's exceeded my expectations.

How long we can keep him is anybody's guess but I'm enjoying the ride.

I'd also throw the Brincks truck at him (as much as OU possibly can) to prolong this ride as long as humanly possible.
