I go back to 1988, but was spoiled early on by seeing jamerson and snoopy live, fell in love with MAC basketball.

Then i graduated and the rush of the Trent era just lit the fuse.

I must admit there several on this years squad very high on my list!

Although I wasn't alive yet (Sorry for making you all feel old!) The early 90's were a golden stretch for Ohio basketball with Trent, Terry, Ford, Estis, Boals. BUT the late 80's with Jamerson (GOAT of OU Basketball) and Graham were amazing as well. This year's squad has that "special" element that could make them memorable for years to come.

I had to live through the Billy Hahn years at Ohio, when he pissed away the best talent in the MAC for 3 years - 2 NBA players - Jamerson and Graham, and went 42-45.

Do you realize that in 7 years we had the MAC Player of the Year 6 times, and only won ONE MAC Championship?

1989 - Snoopy Graham
1990 - Dave Jamerson
1991 - Marcus Kennedy (EMU)
1992 - Lewis Geter
1993 - Gary Trent
1994 - Gary Trent
1995 - Gary Trent

But, my favorite guys to watch weren't always the stars. It was the guys in the paint, grinding, battling for rebounds, taking charges:

John Rhodes
Jeff Boals
Ryan Greenwood
Ed Sears
Delvar Barrett
Doug Taylor

Chet Feldman. King of Ping.
Close second: Andy Kanzig.

Real pick: Bennett Vander Plas as more recent. Ed Sears as the player from my time in Athens.

For me, it's a tie between Sean Carlson, Jim Zelinka and Mick Isgregg - The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, if you will.

Nostalgic would be the guys when I was a student - Brandon Hunter, Steve Esterkamp & Patrick Flomo.

I was self-appointed President of both the Jason Carter and Tony Campbell fan clubs, so I must at least mention those 2. I loved Leon Williams too.

And I love guys that can reliably drain 3s, so Tommy Freeman & Jordan Dartis are in the discussion.

But the point guards of the past decade+ are special. DJ, Jason & Mark...with a side of Jaaron.

You asked for 1 and I gave like 50 names. Just love all the great memories following the Bobcats.

I have to go with guys from the 1969-70 team that started the season with wins against four Big 10 teams-Northwestern, The (at St. John's), Purdue (with Rick Mount at the Convo), and Indiana-after which we were ranked 5th in both the AP and Coaches Poll. Either Greg McDivitt or Kenny Kowall.

Currently, has to be BVP. Dude's a straight awesome guy and a baller. I also love B-Rod since he was in my graduating class at Liberty. Hope he breaks out of his funk soon.

Others include AJ Clayton who I'm class mates with currently and Schmock since I like his drive on the court.

Jason Terry is also special to me as my father played him at the Convo in the 1991-92 OHSAA Athens Regional. That guy straight up ran them all over the court. Terry won Division III player of the year that year. My dad was a special mention.

In spite of the fact that Nature Boy allegedly tried to blackmail the school out of 50K?

I was in school at the end of that run. Ohio men's basketball has been good at finishing near the top of the conference without actually winning it. It sort of reminds me how the MAC could always finish with computer ranking equivalent to conferences that sometimes got two teams in the NCAAs without ever doing it for about 20 years now.
