I don't know about anyone else but I would like Russ to remember that it's the Coach Boals show not the Russ show.
Russ needs to talk less as we want to hear more from Jeff.
I would like to her what others have to say on this subject.

I didn't catch the coach's show but I have noticed this year that game action has become secondary to Russ and Rob's schtick. "Infotainment," you know.

+1 This has always been their MO, but it has gotten more noticeable this year. It's kind of a matter of degree. Some is good. Too much is not so good. When it gets to be too much, it's slightly reminiscent of an ESPN MACtion game where the announcers spend a lot of their time talking about some other upcoming game.

Good take I think. "Infotainment" schtick may be due to focus on positive time in some way vs recent game fails of the program and/or focus discussion on the negative vs the positive w/Boal's....???

Don't get me wrong, I think Russ is one of the best play-by-play guys in the MAC. I just wonder at what stage in this type of career does it get old or stale when you've been at a mid-major for 15 years. He has to have aspirations to move onto something bigger and make more $$$$. Tough business for sure. Glad we have him.

Russ and Rob do a great job of painting a word picture of the action.

When compared to many other duo's, I agree. I can see how maybe it doesn't resonate with everyone, but I enjoy it. I liken it to Marty & Joe when they wandered off to talking about random things during a baseball game.

Let me say -- listen to one half of other schools in the state of Ohio, and you'll realize these guys are in the top 3 in OUr state. Am I biased? A little, but I also cheer for UD and Cincinnati listen to their radio teams regularly. Of course Dan Hoard is excellent, and Larry Hangsen at UD is good. But the former players they have calling color are pretty regularly not very good.
