We played the last 6 minutes with some passion . Carter cost us 3 points with the double technical. We lose by?

According to the board intelligentsia, BGSU won because they are "more athletic."

Actually they got 5 off the 2 T's. 3 of 4 FT's and then a bucket on the possession. Bad timing for Carter to lose it but we had plenty of other poor play that helped us to lose tonight.

This loss could cost us the CBI. Not even joking. BG was ranked in the 280s by some metrics. This could drop us 10-20 spots.

As tired as we look and as bad as we're playing, skipping the post-season might be the most compassionate decision anyway.

Whether we win or lose will be on BVP's leadership from here on out. He seems the hungriest.
And with not much competition for that title.
Someone explain to me how JC and Sears are now inept? How has Miles never evolved? Why is Rod so dang bad? I seriously wons4r why Ezuma is not getting 15 mins per game. Why is Adelodun not getting run? Boals is too loyal.
That open 4 footer on the baseline Ezuma missed when we really needed a bucket?

That would be why. Looks like Tarzan. Plays like Jane.

After this game and the last few I am more concerned about our ability to win the tournament.
Not sure about the teams mental toughness to overcome the obstacles in front of us.
Winning the tournament is certainly not out of the question just more difficult.

Boals might need the time to shop around in the portal for some guys who can hit water if they fell out of a boat... and actually do other things on the floor besides launch 3's and hold their breath that they will find the net.

No, we get blown out by teams that are more athletic.

Did you notice that Schmock was 1 of 9 from three tonight, but when a BG player stepped on the line trying to save a ball from going out of bounds, it went right to Schmock and he just turned around and chucked it in from the corner. That was the kind of night it was.

BG seemed to just have more to play for, especially in the 2nd half. Came out with something like a 20-2 run.

It's good that Carter wants to be more vocal in his final year, but he really has to know the limits. Yes, it was a lousy call; he got bumped coming into the lane and they call a travel. But part of being a team leader is to not hurt your team with your mouth. By rights, Boals shouldn't start him Friday, but it'll be tough given that Boals has been T'ed up a few times this season at inopportune times too.

Can still be the 3-seed in Cleveland and probably open vs BSU, but this sure doesn't look like a MAC tourney winner.

Is it more athletic, or just bigger and better?

I would say more athletic. The teams that blow us away are also quicker and play with more energy.

Not that I'm part of any board's intelligentsia, Jeff, but I wouldn't say this.

I would say Ohio lost because we are "less athletic."

No - we are simply a lousy team right now.

For the first time this year we soliched. "To solich" - to lose to a team you should beat. Often in a late season game.

It's hard to believe this team had the best record in school history a month ago. Now I really wonder if it has enough left in the tank to win a single game in Cleveland.

What I said against Kent and Akron, brush off and move on. Gotta wake up for the tourney though. If we played for 40 minutes like we did for the last 6 of this game, we have a legit shot to making it to the NCAA tourney. That's what I want to see for the whole game.

With our lack of good wins, you could always counter it with "but we don't have any bad losses and take care of teams we should." No more. Really bad loss.

Normally I do a rundown of thoughts after each game. Today I will just say what I have cautioned several times this season...We just can't shoot real well. Pretty important part of Basketball.

Some thoughts:

1) Shooting, its just bad. I don't really see a confidence issue considering they are firing at an alarming rate. 41 attempts last night. At what point does Boals end this madness?

2) Carter. Couldn't have picked a worse situation to lose his cool. I won't put this L on him, not even close. The three point shooting is the reason for the L. I saw several comments calling for punishment, ranging from not starting next game to not travelling to NIU. The way Boals has gone after the refs this year, earning a few T's himself, not sure how he could hand out a punishment when he has set this tone for the entire season. This isn't high school basketball.

3) Moving forward. At this point, not much is left to say to this team. I think we have a leadership issue within the players, not staff. This team had so much success early on, they hardly face adversity in the W/L column. They haven't been tested in the leadership category and are falling flat when they need it most. It can't come from the staff, has to be organic.
