Top 2 teams in the MAC with so many good matchups: my preseason MAC POY (Rollins) v. my mid-season MAC POY (Sears); Carter/BVP v. Shumate/Milner; OUr thin bench v. UT's thinner bench.

And if EMU fans can promote Noah Farrakhan as MAC frosh of the year even though he played 10 games for East Carolina last year, can't Rollins and Sears also be considered?

As far as signs and chants.....hope cellis can get the students to chant "One more year" after BVP does something great. I think he'd absolutely enjoy that.

Reviewing the information available online, this game looks like a real test. Their board is singing the praises of their coach and lineup with words like "Good time to be a UT rockets basketball fan." A win Friday would feel like a tournament victory. Hope we have a good night.

No. Farrakhan was officially redshirted last year (fell just under the threshold of playing time to still be a redhsirt) so he is officially in his Freshman year regardless of Covid.

We are going to wear them out by making them have to work hard to get good looks and OUr bench will be more productive than theirs. As pointed out in an early post, their bench is thin. Look at the minutes and the distribution goes only six deep with other minutes likely being mop up time considering the Rockets have been winning games handily.

Yeah, Toledo had its five starters each log 30+ minutes in a game where their largest lead was 27 with more than five minutes to go. Contrast that with none of our players logging more than 30 last night.

How long has it been since we've beaten Toledo in Athens? The last time I remember off the top of my head was the year Toledo was ranked, I think 2014? Stevie Taylor forced a critical 5 second call on a Toledo guard late in that game if I recall correctly.

Yes, that is the last time we beat them in Athens. One of my very favorite Ohio basketball games I've seen in person. I don't remember if Toledo was ranked, but they had far and away the best record in the MAC to that point. An overtime shootout, buncha dunks from Mo and Jon Smith, the critical five second call Stevie forced. Livewire atmosphere on ESPNU. There was even a marriage proposal during a timeout. Really!

That's great. Like many on this board I imagine, I wish I could be there tonight, but live out of state and don't get to many games. I love that so many of the games are on TV now. Go Bobcats!

Anecdotally, I've got several friends in Columbus who are casual Bobcats. The type who have their heads up OSU's ass 95% of the time but then suddenly become super proud of their school when we flash onto the national scene. Many of them know I have season tickets and I've gotten several inquiries about if I'm using my tickets to Friday's game. Not very common. Gives me hope other fringe fans are looking at coming.

Looking back that 2014 team had a lot of players I enjoyed watching. Kellogg, Ndour, Rico, Stevie, Jon Smith, Wilkins, Hall. Campbell and Stetty coming off the bench as well.
