Watching Middle Tennessee in the second half clobber ACU makes me scratch my head about this past season even more than before. ACU looks like a D-III team in this game. How in the heck did we lose to them? And the final score makes the game appear closer than it actually was. MTSU literally let ACU have an uncontested layup to end the scoring in the final seconds after their coach had them turn the ball over on a clock violation. Great sportsmanship, I guess.

MTSU would have been a bad matchup for us. They are like those teams that blew us out late in the season. Quick, athletic, etc. ACU plays in a terrible conference, possibly why they ended with 25 "wins" if you include non-D1 and non-NCAA games.

Yes, I hate to say it, but that same thought crossed my mind when I looked MTSU's size and length -- and their quickness and Casper71-approved athleticism. Boy do we need an upgrade in recruiting. Hopefully, the new guys coming to town this fall will have some of those characteristics.

OCF we have been around long enough to know what an athlete looks like. :) As others have said our recruiting better upgrade real quick.

Sounds like you missed the first half when ACU was up by as many as 11 and went to the locker room up 7. In the second half they suddenly couldn't hit a shot, they hit an early three and were up 8 and then they didn't score again until a single free throw 6 minutes later to tie the game at 50. Lots of turnovers and missed threes and layups. They made free throws but didn't get their second bucket of the half until under the 6 minute mark. They were still only down 8 to 10 but by the end it seemed like a blowout. They made 4 shots in the second half that weren't from the line.

Yes, I turned in in the second half. I didn't see the first half. Last night I watched the last part of the MTSU -UNCW game and both OTs. Boy was that a clunker of a game. Both teams looked exhausted, and probably were given the number of consecutive days they'd played a game. I rooted for UNCW because I still am rankled at MTSU's arrogance and/or weird financial accounting that prevented them from coming into the MAC along with WKU. The Hilltoppers would have been a great addition to the MAC.

MTSU also lost an exhausting 3OT game to UAB in the C-USA title game, so they were probably at their wits end, having to play another multi-OT game.
