Disappointed that the CBI moved away from home advantage in the first few rounds. Was looking forward to more games in the Convo. Oh well, but I'm glad Florida based Bobcats get to see the boys play! Like I said earlier, sign me up for more basketball

On paper, Rice is a team that (not unlike Ohio) peaked in January. Their only good wins were at home against UAB and Middle Tennessee on January 6 and 8. There was also one close loss at home against Louisiana Tech but the rest of their schedule involves games against teams that aren't very good. With them at only a 16-16 record on the season, it would be a real disappointment if Ohio didn't beat them.

Their best player statistically appears to be Max Fiedler, listed at 6-11, 235#. He leads the team in rebounds, blocks, and assists. He is also second in turnovers and third in scoring. Looks like they run a lot of their offense through him.

As a team, they do not defend well, ranking 309th in KenPom defensive efficiency.

A post season destination single elimination tournament should be a nice way to spend some recovery and development time.

Not sure why "My Pillow" would have a bad rating. I recently had a problem with a pair of slippers I had bought from them almost year ago. I sent them an email message and explained that the insides had become lumpy. They didn't ask any further questions, sent me a replacement pair and a return pre-paid label to return the damaged pair. This was all accomplished very quickly. The new slippers were in the mail the very next day. I have two of their pillows and they are very comfortable and have held up well over several years. Now, Flohoops is another matter. It took me quite a long time to get out of that mess, as I described in another post.

Apparently 213 other people were not so lucky with "My Pillow" according to the BBB website. Lots of the issues seem to pertain to what some might call deceptive advertising and the refusal to stop doing it.

Unlike the past CBI tournament where a team could purchase a round for a home game, this time it appears that there are no costs for the teams. That's a good thing.
While I am not in favor of this tournament I will support our boys and hopefully be able to watch without any issues.
If anyone knows the ins and outs of how to watch, without being taken to the cleaners, please communicate back.

My family is headed for a week to our place in Daytona Beach. We were scheduled to leave Friday and arrive on Saturday. It'll be at least nice to see the end of BVP's career in-person.

It depends on whether or not you use it. I have friends that subscribe to Flo for racing, and it's a bargain, and it has a quality stream for racing. But the fact that the only option is annual pay is a definite turn off.

It depends on whether or not you use it. I have friends that subscribe to Flo for racing, and it's a bargain, and it has a quality stream for racing. But the fact that the only option is annual pay is a definite turn off.
Agree...if it were pay per game...different story. The annual pay is what gets ya even with the "cancel" anytime policy which others have said is problematic.

Some have suggested we will be seeing a different rotation so returners can get more experience. Ohio certainly wants the opportunity to give returning players more experience, but that's not the bottom line. Winning the tourney is. So I expect to see our regular lineup.

Well, I agree that his ads are full of puffery and claims of things like "lowest price ever" . . . "if you use the promo code on the bottom of your screen." I have one friend who likes their products but says he thinks their ads are what the mute button was invented for. So, I think one can make a distinction between the product and the advertising. This is by no means the only company whose products I like despite some pretty crummy advertising.

Is it though? Are you positive? Is there some magical big cash prize for the winner we aren't aware of?

You're certainly not getting any extra/added national exposure from this tourney.

Basically playing for pride (one last hurrah for the seniors), having fun and (hopefully not) getting an awkward banner in the Convo (I'd prefer to just add it to the record books) IMO.

One additional reason to play here that I failed to mention previously, beyond a reward via a week in the sun for the seniors, is AJ Brown. This tourney is going to be in his back yard.

Perfect opportunity to get him around the coaches and players as prep for next year and attend a couple games. That alone probably makes this worth it for me as long as we stay healthy.
